Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 12 Rochester 7 (7 inn.)
• Ward 2⅔ IP, 4H, 4R, 4ER, 3BB, 3K, HR
• Medina (BS, 4; L, 8-3) 5BF, 5H, 5R, 5ER, 0BB, 0K, 4HR
• House 2-4, R, HR, 2RBI
• Alu 1-3, R, HR, 2RBI
• Mejia 1-3, 2RBI

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre hit back-to-back-to-back HRs in a seven-run 5th as they turned a 7-5 deficit into 12-7, rain-shortened win. Thad Ward was sent packing after two and 2/3rds innings, charged with four runs on four hits (one HR) and three walks. The loss went to Adonis Medina, who gave up five hits, four of which cleared the outfield wall. ESPN has learned those are called home runs. Brady House and Jake Alu both homered and drove in two, as did Erick Mejia with a single that opened up the Red Wings scoring. The game was halted in the top of the 7th with one out and two runners on and called 31 minutes later.

Harrisburg 7 Portland 5
• Saenz 6IP, 7H, 4R, 4ER, 0BB, 5K, HR
• Cronin (H, 2) 1IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Lile 3-5, R, 2RBI, 2K, SB
• Morales 2-4, BB, 2RBI
• Arruda 2-4, 3R, 2B(20), RBI

After waiting out a 78-minute rain delay, those who stayed were rewarded with a 7-5 Senators win over the Sea Dogs. A five-run 4th gave Dustin Saenz enough cushion to win with six innings of four-run ball on seven hits (one HR), no walks, and a season-best five strikeouts. Daylen Lile led the Harrisburg hit column with three singles and two RBI, followed by Yoyo Morales with two safeties that extended his hit streak to five games, and J.T. Arruda with a single and his team-leading (among current players) 20th double.

Aberdeen 2 Wilmington 0
• Susana (L, 5IP, 7H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 10K, HBP, WP
• Huff 2IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 1K
• Dugas 2-4, 2B
• Vega 1-2, 2BB

Wilmington struck out 14 times, including the side in both the 7th and 8th innnings – in their 16th shutout loss, 2-0 to Aberdeen. Jarlin Susana let in both IronBirds runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out a career-best 10 over five innings. He was rewarded with his third loss, “thanks” to the Blue Rocks going 0-for-11 with RISP as they were unable to convert the three singles, two doubles, five walks, and a Robles into a score.

Fredericksburg 21 Kannapolis 5
• Sykora (W, 5-3) 5IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 9K
• C. Sanchez 1IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 3K
• S. Petersen 4-6, 4R, 2-2B, SB
• K. Diaz 3-6, 3R, 3RBI
• Colmenares 2-4, R, 2B, 3B, 3RBI
• King 2-4, R, RBI
• Bazzell 2-4, 3R, BB, 3B, 2RBI

A nine-run 5th turned a 5-0 game into a 14-0 laugher as the FredNats, um, bombed the Cannon Ballers, 21-5. Travis Sykora won his fifth game while tossng five shutout innigs, with one hit, one walk, and nine whiffs. Sam Petersen had a pro debut for the ages as he fell a home run shy of the cycle with a single, two doubles, and a triple. Fredericksburg tied its season high with 17 hits with every starter having at least one and five having multiple hits.
