Rochester Red Wings, 27-18, 1st Place I.L. East, 2½ Lg. GB – 65-53 Overall
The meaninglessness of the International League’s divisions is why Rochester is in 1st place but trails Columbus in the 2nd half race by two and a half games. This week the Red Wings travel to Pennsylvania to play Lehigh Valley for five night games and a day game on Sunday.
Harrisburg Senators, 18-27, T4th place, 11GB, E.L. Southwest – 56-58 Overall
The Senators visit Akron this week with a day game today. There are whispers that Tyler Stuart may be promoted to Rochester, which may also mean that Brad Lord will miss a turn in the rotation after taking a ball off his right forearm on Saturday. Meanwhile, Harrisburg is riding a five-game win streak that has brought them out of the cellar for the first time since July.
Wilmington Blue Rocks, 20-27, 6th Place, 5GB, Sally Lg. North – 51-62 Overall
Last-place Wilmington heads up I-95 to upstate NY to play the first-place Hudson Valley Renegades for seven, including a doubleheader on Thursday. The Blue Rocks dropped five of six to the Cyclones but somehow remain in striking distance of the division title with three weeks left to play.
Fredericksburg Nationals, 29-19, 1st Place, 2GA, C.L. North – 58-44 Overall
Fredericksburg broke even for the second straight home series, which could prove costly with no more games left against the two closest challengers. This week, it’s six night games against Columbia.

The D-Jays spun two in the 6th to take a 5-4 lead and plattered four more in 8th to extended it to 9-4. This being the DSL, the D-Nats got six in the bottom of the 8th and somehow didn’t blow it in the 9th for a 10-9 win. Marlon De La Cruz went the first three and allowed three runs on three hits and… wait for it… three walks. He struck out six. The win went to Jose Sanchez for getting the last out of the 8th (after letting in both inherited runners) and working around a leadoff single in the 9th. Dashyll Tejada and Diego Hernandez both singled twice, walked once, and scored twice to lead the D-Nats attack. Angel Feliz was named the DSL Player of the Week after going 10-for-23 with six runs scored, a double, a triple, a homer, two RBI, and four SB.
It’s almost like a knee jerk reaction the last few years to write in Columbus Clippers for IL finals especially now that their robust farm system now has Chase De Leteur in the Clip joint .
Let’s see if Blue Rox can score some runs against the 44 Renegades .
Let’s go , TJ White and Banjo Joe !
Always interesting to see the results when Oh Susana and Round Rock Sycamore Sykora take the mound .
Glad to see Dashyll Tejeda return from the wilderness, after only playing once in the past 11 days. Now what’s up with Victor Hurtado? He hasn’t played since August 5th.
17 year olds wil be typical 17 year olds .
Who knows injuries these days come upon 17 year olds just gaming lol
Congrats in order to Brady House, Angel Feliz, and Zack Brzykcy. All three made MLB pipeline’s prospect team of the week at their position. Nats had the most players this week. Also House made the weekly hot sheet for BA as well.
As predicted: Stuart up, Lord to the D.L. Same dance with Theophile & Shuman for Harrisburg and Wilmington.
Interesting night for pitching prospects, with Sykora and Susana going as well as Saenz and Ward.
From twitter:
Kevin Bazzell (3rd round), Robert Cranz (7th) and Merritt Beeker (11th) are among this year’s draft picks that were just promoted to Single-A Fredericksburg.
Kent taking the rest of summer off ?
Let’s see how Shuman helps out Delino .
