The Red Wings went to town on the Mets bullpen, scoring ten times in their last three “ups” in an 11-2 demolition. That was too late for Thad Ward, who went the first five and left with the game tied 1-1 on an unearned run scored on five hits, three walks, and a Robles. He struck out three. Amos Willingham got the “W” for a scoreless 6th. Joey Gallo singled, walked, homered, and drove in three as did Brady House on a pair of doubles to lead Rochester’s 12-hit, five-walk offense.
Harrisburg 4 Richmond 1

Yoyo Morales homered to snap a 1-1 tie in the 5th, then singled in two more in the 7th to lead Harrisburg to a 4-1 win. Andry Lara turned in six innings of one-run ball on a home run and a single tow in his 8th AA game and 10th overall. Garvin Alston was perfect for two to get his seventh hold while Jack Sinclair struck out two while pitching a 1-2-3 ninth for his third save. Daylen Lile and J.T. Arruda both went 2-for-3, with Arruda tha only batter not to strike out in a 15-strikeout outing for Richmond’s pitchers. Roster moves: RHP Guasch transferred, UT Phillip Glasser promoted from Wilmington; RHP Holden Powell, SS Kevin Made stashed placed on the 7-Day I.L.
Wilmington 6 Brooklyn 4
• Susana 4⅔ IP, 3H, 4R, 4ER, 5BB, 7K
• L. Young (W, 4-10) 2⅓ IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 2K, 1-0 IR-S

• Quintana 3-4, 2R, 2B
• McKenzie 2-5, R, 2B, 2RBI
• Stehly 1-2, R, 2BB, 3B, 2RBI
The Cyclones spun Jarlin Susana for four runs in the top of the 5th to erase a 3-0 deficit, but gave it away in the bottom half of the 5th on a two-out, two-run error that put the Blue Rocks on top, 6-4. Luke Young, who got the last out of the 5th and then tossed two scoreless, picked up his fourth win, while Tyler Schoff and Miguel Gomez both put up a goose egg to earn the hold and save, respectively. Roismar Quintana led the Wilmington offense with two singles and a double while Murphy Stehly and Jared McKenzie both drove in two runs.
Fredericksburg 4 Salem 3
• Sykora 4⅔ IP, 4H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 5K, 81-57 PIT-K
• Bollenbacher (W, 1-1) 1⅓ IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 3K, 2-2 IR-S
• Arguelles (SV, 7) 1⅓ IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 3K
• King 2-4, R, 3B, 2K
• Ochoa 1-3, 2B(10)
Errors were also the story in Fredericksburg as four miscues led to three unearned runs in a 4-3 win over Salem. Travis Sykora came back to earth with two runs allowed on four hits and a walk with “only” five strikeouts over four and 2/3rds innings. The win went to Matt Bollenbacher as the pitcher of record when the FredNats scored on an error in the 6th to go up 3-2. Jose Colmenares’s sac fly plated the insurance run in the bottom of the 8th, which proved necessary when Anthony Arguelles gave up a run in the 9th before striking out the last two Salem batters for his seventh save. Both hands on the keyboard: Seaver King singled, tripled, and scored a run while Nate Ochoa hit his 10th double to pace the Fredericksburg offense.
I wonder if there will be an innings imposed on Susana and Sykora. I like seeing both of them pitching 100% from the stretch.
maybe Miami native Morales just needed it to warm up, his power output since returning from injury has been a plus.
Both Susana and Sykora have already been playing the season with an innings limit. No more than either 5 innings or 70ish pitches, whichever comes first (the singular exception being Sykora’s no hitter, which they generously allowed him to go 6 innings).
Highly deserved promotion for Glasser! He’s been a beacon of competent hitting in an otherwise dark sea of incompetence in Wilmington.
Quite impressive for him to reach AA, being a 4th year college senior awarded a measly $20k signing bonus in last year’s draft.
May Parker penn a gem tonight
Glasser the Hurryin Hoosier ! Delino can use another lefty bat in lineup
Will another request for rest of season please . Track the numbers if Elijah Green since he has Seaver King hitting behind him
To all the Mel Brooks fans out there . If fans watching Seaver King think “ It’s good to be the King “ … does a Fred slap down on an opponent constitute a gang bang ?
Let’s see how Harrisburg does a season ending push with Luckham back in rotation and Glasser in lineup .
It sure would be nice if some line up protection helped Green, but I’ve long ago given up hope. He currently leads the minors in strikeouts (173). The gap separarting him from 2nd most is the same amount as the gap between 2nd and 7th. If you prefer rate stats, he’s also leading that stat too (K% of 44.1%) of all batters at any level with at least 250 plate appearances.
