Michael Cuevas snapped a six-start losing streak with a season-high seven innings pitcheas as the Senators straightened the Curve, 3-1. Cueval allowed the lone Altoona run on three hits, no walks, and seven strikeouts as he won his second game and posted his fourth quality start. Andrew Pinckney tripled in Daylen Lile in the 1st and doubled him in during the 3rd while Dérmis Garcia homered to round out the Harrisburg scoring. Lile reached base three times on a walk, single, and a hit-by-pitch. Roster moves: LHP Jose A. Ferrer MLB Rehab transferred from Fredericksburg.

• Marcano 1-2

The D-AZ Red team got all four runs without hit or an error, “thanks” to two walks, four Robles, and a groundout dug a 4-0 hole for the D-Nats after half an inning. While Marlon De La Cruz kinda righted the ship as he “only” allowed three hits and one more walk after putting the first six runners on base. He struck out four, allegedly two looking and two swinging, but more likely: four ducking. Cuevas had a perfect game through six innings. Pickney had a great diving catch in the 5th inning to preserve it. A ground ball that deflected off of the glove of Cuevas in the 7th ended it. It was a great outing by him.

What do the Nats have in Austin Amaral ? 6-7 inning reliever ??

Sykora has yet another dominant outing. I understand why the Nats are keeping him on a pitch limit, but he’s clearly got more left in the tank. He struck out all 3 batters he faced in the 5th inning before getting pulled at 70 pitches. I’m thinking a promotion is in order sooner than later. These low A batters don’t seem to be nearly enough of a challenge for him.

TJ White has always been streaky but .473, 3 HR, 1BB and 2K in his last 5 games is out of this world. especially after struggling to hit .150 for the rest of the season. keep it going young man!

    1. KW says:

Time will tell if White can keep things going, but my mind flashes to likely the greatest turnaround in Nat minor-league history, also at the A+ level. Tyler Moore went from scuffling on the interstate and fearing that he was going to be released to finishing his 129-game season with 31 homers, 43 doubles, and 111 RBI.
