The F-Nats tied the game twice but couldn’t get the rainstorm needed to prevent the bullpen from coughing up seven runs in the 7th to lose, 12-5. Camilo Sanchez muddled through four innings, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven. Adrian Ogando took the loss, his second, with six runs let in over two and a 1/3rd innings om three hits (one HR) and a walk. Jorgelys Mota homered, drove in two, and walked three times; Enmanuel Ramirez doubled in two; Jake Alu and Wander Arias both had a single to round out the four-hit salvo for the FCL Nationals.

• Liriano 1-2, 2R, 2B(5), SB, E
The DSL Nationals committed six errors, including two by Victor Hurtado, in an 11-4 loss to the DSL Rockies. Starter Jose Feliz gave up six runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks. He struck out two. 18-y.o. Edwin Solano singled twice in three trips to the plate while 18-y.o. Hector Liriano reached base three times on double and two walks and scored twice to lead the D-Nats offense.
Another phantom injury: Dashyll Tejeda currently sporting a 1.066 OPS hasn’t played in two weeks, with no corresponding injured list or promotion. These unreported injuries frustrate me to no end.
A very good game from Jorgelys Mota, possibly his first good game all season. Even after reaching base in 4 out of 5 plate appearances and hitting a HR (raising his OPS by over 50 points) his his triple slash sits at a mere .149/.230/.240. His OPS of .469 is by some margin the worst in the FCL. It’s been a hugely disappointing season for Mota, who dominated the same FCL pitching last season and even found himself in Fburg for several weeks.
Mortimer , sell ! Sell ! Sell !
Luke make me a promise ?
Post a picture from Trading Places film of Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche the day after trading places Rizzo style deadline
Predictions of how many prospects and crates of baseballs Rizzo will swing on at deadline , folks ?
Does Carlos Tavares earn a ticket to end season on Fred bench ???
Todd : spot on your last NAR posting
Safe to say if and when Saenz returns to Sens he will bump Cuevas out of rotation ?
Where is Bob Carpenter?
He is slowly retiring. The Nats have been very classy to let him work part time in his final years.
How would you compare Kevin Frandsen to FP Santangelo? Franny keeps the patter going and is well liked, but I don’t learn much from him. To me, he tends to state the obvious and mumbles a lot. He does give some inside information and insight from time to time. I always learned something interesting several times a game from FP. Maybe there are some legal or behavioral issues about FP that have never been cleared up. Nonetheless, I wish the Nats would find somebody who could communicate better about inside baseball stuff. Am I just under-appreciating Frandsen?
I’m really dissatisfied with the current broadcasters – they talk to much and often tell me what I’ve just seen. We got to do better.
…too much…
We like that DSL 1-4 lineup today vs NYY kids
Hurtado 3 rd tater
Felix leading off
Soriano getting some hits lately
I guess , fellow fans and peanut gallery that with a shortened FCL season the draftees will be in doctrinated with XST scrimmages ?
I guess no longer one of “our guys”… since he’s firmly graduated and was on the cusp of All-Star consideration this year….. but here’s how Jake Irvin has progressed, courtesy of Fangraphs:

Kirkie, thanks for sharing the info!!

Luke , I’m awaiting something like this soon WP / Roswell
Come back Little Sheba and Will Frizzell.
Are you sure he hasn’t been loaned to an Indy league team ? Lol!
What a progression in pitching maturity ( I typed maturity and it spelled Marriott )
Senators rotation now compared to April . Lord at AAA, Oh Susana at high A debut July 9 th
Maybe the Nats need to sign a minor league free agent for Delino lineup like they did with Banjo Joe at A plus
Good to see Lawson settle in one infield spot with ( Got IT) Made ( CSN&Y reunion album ) @ SS
