Worcester 12 Rochester 5
• L. Reyes (L, 2-3) 2IP, 4H, 6R, 6ER, 4BB, 3K, HR, HBP, WP
• Ribalta 1IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 1K
• Baker 3-5, RBI, SB(30)
• Lindsly 2-4, R, 2B, HR, RBI
• Blankenhorn 2-4, R, HR, 3RBI, 2K

The Red Wings led twice – 3-0 and 4-3 – but they couldn’t outhit their poor pitching in a 12-5 loss to the (ugh) Woo Sox. Spot starter Luis Reyes threw BP for two innings with six runs let in on four hits and four walks to lose for the third time this season. Darren Baker padded his lead for hits with nos. 87-89 and stolen bases with no. 30 while Brady Lindsly and Travis Blankenhorn both went deep as the trio accounted for all five RBI and all seven of Rochester’s hits. Roster moves: RHP Jackson Rutledge recalled to Washington; RHP Joan Adon optioned from Washington.

Harrisburg vs. Richmond – PPD
Richmond didn’t wait for the game to start to call it (how novel). The makeup is will be with a doubleheader tonight.

Wilmington 3 Brooklyn 2
• L. Young 5IP, 6H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 4K
• Arias 2IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Cronin (W, 1-0) ⅓ IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 1K, 1-0 IR-S
• White 1-3, R, HR, RBI
• M. Romero 1-4, RBI

Max Romero picked the right time to get his only hit, delivering Jared McKenzie from second with a single up the middle with one out in the bottom of the 9th to give Wilmington a walkoff win over Brooklyn, 3-2. That made a winner out of Matt Cronin, who struck out the only batter he faced in the top half of the inning. Luke Young gave up both Cyclones runs on six hits and two walks over five frames. He struck out four. T.J. White homered while Joe Naranjo doubled for the two extra-base hits out six total for the Blue Rocks.

Carolina vs. Fredericksburg – PPD
Rain claimed Game Four of the six-game series between Fredericksburg and Carolina. They’ll shoot to make it up with a twi-night doubleheader tonight.

DSL Nationals 6 DSL White Sox 5
• Vera ⅓ IP, 0H, 2R, 1ER, 3BB, 1K
• Oliveros (W, 2-2) 2IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 2K

• Marmolejos 3-3, 2R, 2B, 3RBI, E
• Liriano 2-3, R, HR, 3RBI
• Hurtado 2-3, 2R, SB

The DSL Nationals and DSL White Sox traded runs in the 1st, 4th, and 5th innings with the D-Nats getting the last word for a 6-5 win. Alejandro Vera

If the Nats end up trading both Winker and Thomas, please call up Baker and give him a few games in LF. With no power and not SS-capable, it’s always been hard to see much of a path for Baker to have an MLB “career,” but he’s sure put in the work to deserve a cup of coffee. If the Nats have let Nunez, Lucius Fox, and Jeter Downs be able to forever call themselves major leaguers, Baker would have a much better chance against MLB pitching than those stiffs ever have.

And the TJ White Revitalization Tour continues.

You know Darren has had a good campaign @ ROCH . 30 SBs . Speed never sleeps – The White Rat ( Whitey Herzog ).
No coincidences : McKenzie and JDL getting their base knocks at the same time White has been slowly putting a string together .
      Eyes on Lara and Theophile.
Yo-yo and Hassell 3 still on the sidelines
Agree Hass MO in AZ will probably manifest in Ranier ( chapter 11 beer out in Seattle ).

Rainer is probably gone by 10. Joe Doyle has the Nats taking Griffin (my 1st choice) and Tommy White still available through pick 39.

John , Yea Tommy White fits that Haas MO from Arizona blueprint plan

Keith Law is guessing that the Nats will pass on Griffin because of his suspect hit tool, not wanting to go down the same path that they have with Green. I’d rather have a college player in general, to help sooner rather than later since the rebuild seems closer to fruition.

I am not a pro scout, but Griffin is a lot more like House in terms of hit tool. He would be my 1-1 if I were choosing (As House was in 21).

Not to pick on Elijah, but there were a ton of bad signs with him. Quitting football after his team got blown out. Saying in an interview for teams in cold weather not to draft him, ect.

Griffin blew me away in the videos I saw he has an amazing attitude and wants to be the best, but is not obnoxious about it. Also, you listen to the people around him and apparently no one works harder. Again, not a scout, but his swing already looks better than it did earlier in the season. He sees himself as an CF.
