The loss went to Adonis Medina, who let in the go-ahead run in the 6th after getting out of the 5th. Dylan Crews’s first AAA hit was a solo HR, one of two extra-base hits on the night for Rochester. Darren Baker and Harold Ramírez led the eight-hit barrage with two singles apiece. Roster moves: RHP Robert Gsellman released.
Hartford 4 Harrisburg 3
• Gray 5IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 5K

• D. Garcia 1-4, R, HR, RBI
Harrisburg missed an opportunity to reduce the magic number to two as the ‘pen impoded for two runs in the 9th on two-out single after the bases were loaded with two walks and a hit batsman. Josiah Gray made his second rehab start and gave up two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings. Daison Acosta lost his first game as he gave up the aforementioned two runs in the 9th. Brady House doubled twice and drove in a run while Dérmis Garcia homered in the 9th to lead the Senators offense.

• Brzykcy 1IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Dugas 1-2, R, BB

Wilmington pitchers walked 11 yet somehow stayed within striking distance all night. The offense, however, lived up to its dead-last ranking in the Sally League, barely avoiding the shutout with a four singles and four walks in between 15 whiffs. Riley Cornelio walked five and struck out four over five innings, giving up both Aberdeen runs for his sixth loss. Gavin Dugas and Elijah Nunez were the only two Blue Rocks to reach base twice, both drawing a walk and getting a safety. Roster moves: RHP Cole Henry assigned from Harrisburg for MiLB Rehab.

Elijah Green’s two-run single in the 5th snapped a 1-1 deadlock as Fredericksburg took Game Two, 4-1. Bryan Polanco notched his first career quality start —and the second for the FredNats this season—with six innings of one-run ball on four hits and a walk. He struck out eight. Bubba Hall followed with two goose eggs for the hold while Anthony Arguelles cordero’d around two walks in the 9th for the save. Green, Cristhian Vaquero, and Roismar Quintana each had two hits with Vaquero connecting for his 10th double to lead the eight-hit night for Fredericksburg.
FCL Astros 5 FCL Nationals 4

• Rombach 2-4, 2R, 2B, HR, 2RBI
• Batista 2-4, 2R, HR, RBI
The F-Nats capitalized on an error in the 7th to tie it at 4-4 but could not push the free runner across before the F-Astros walked them off, 5-4 in nine innings. Austin Amaral “worked on some things” for two runs on two hits and four walks over and inning and 2/3rds. The loss went to Adam Bloebaum, who gave up back-to-back singles to the two (2) batters faced to take the loss. 23-y.o. Nate Rombach’s two-out, two-run HR forced extras and drove in Carlos Batista, who reached on the aforementioned error. Both Rombach and Batista went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while the rest of the lineup went 2-for-24.
We’re now at week 3 since Cade Cavalli threw his last pitch. The Nats are publicly claiming everything is fine, but I don’t recall three week absences being part of TJ rehab processes. In fact, Seth Shuman debuted in the exact same game as Cavalli in his own return from TJ, and has pitched 4 times since Cavalli’s last outing. Zack Brzykcy, while a reliever, also returned from TJ at the same time, and continues to throw regularly. It smells like some sort of setback has happened.
Great to see the return of Cole Henry after a long absence. Wilmington is compiling a pretty impressive list of rehabbers…
Next major promotion firNats on the farm ?
Lay your guesses here today
none of the younger hitters have shown anything at the complex or in F’burg. maybe a complete shuffle of the hurlers will come after the break.
Brad Lord going up to AAA, good luck young man.
It was reported that Cavalli is pitching for Wilmington tomorrow.
Luckham had a Lord outing
Wasted QS
Bummer
An ole Expo fan passed away
Donald Sutherland age 88
Wilmington has evidently lost their CF camera and though they have one behind home plate they choose to show the game from the third base side of the field. hard to see where the pitches come in.
one thing to note on Henry, he worked entirely from the stretch. he hasn’t done that before
Forget the starting pitcher career for Coke Henry ,FredMD?
How man people doing a happy dance after Gsellman release
Wilmington is an embarrassment to MiLB and it’s pretty obvious that their gameplan is to get bought and therefore will not put a penny more what MiLB requires, which, unfortunately, appears to be limited to the facilities only.
Quite the blue chip prospect on Yardgoats in OF from Cubs
Go Sens
Luck on the mound today
My guess is that the Nationals have an innings cap in mind for Cade and this is their way of managing it. You don’t want to reach his innings limit the first week of July. I bet they are doing this so he can pitch through September.
