Clean , Cavilli , clean !! Nice
Happy Lara dance
Oh , Susana !!!
Carlos in FCL keeps raking
Go get , em JR tonight . Pound the zone !!
Cavalli’s delivery looks very smooth, I may be afflicted with the Andy Pettite condition but it seemed like he was more max effort in the past
Taveres keeos on racking Saturday ..
Good to see Cavalli back! I know Wilmington is an extremely pitcher friendly park. Seems the Nats have picked up on this and begun using it as the preferred rehab destination, I guess to set the pitchers up for the greatest success.
In addition to Cavalli, Lara and Susana had great outings too. Their bouncebacks this season are extremely welcome. Pitching depth looked like a serious concern at the start of the season, but much less pressing today.
Looks like they’re being very careful with Wood’s return, giving him every other day off.
somehow DLR went deep twice in this pitcher friendly park. I really think this is overblown and pulled out at the first time a hitter struggles. Wood seemed to do just fine as did Lile. the pitching upgrade from A to A+ is more the reason in my mind.
DLR has quick bursts then short slumps
What’s his norm?
he’s just a reminder that all these kids are good, really good. they’re great when they can do it consistently. few and far between as much as we like to try and figure it out for them or blame coaching.
Keith Law, who lives in Wilmington, says when he drives to the stadium it’s all downhill and the air is much thicker. Just not a lot of carry when the ball is hit.
Which makes DLR’s homers all the more impressive.
Fingers crossed on JDL
Hassell is a 3
Douglas Hodo 3 a Bird
His dad must have played at Texas
Southern tradition ? Name your next generation’s 1-2-3-4-5 ?
It’s pretty great to read down the page and see such positive results from Crews, Lara, Cavalli, and Susana, all high-ceiling guys, several of whom have had their struggles. Plus Herz started in the majors last night (and hung on for dear life at a mile high). As Will noted, pitching depth has been a real concern, but add what Parker and Irvin are doing to these performances and the club seems to be in a lot better shape in that area than it was just recently thought to be.
Do these developments affect their draft strategy? A few weeks ago, I was all in on them trying to get a pitcher in the first round (#10 pick overall). Now, I think they’re in better shape to sit back and truly take the “best player available,” although they don’t particularly need OF help.
5 in Mile High ain’t bad
That’s the normal ERA for a Rox starter .
Sorry to post so late, but it appeared the heat and humidity got to Lara in the 6th so trainer/DeShields took him out.
I noticed Hassell was coaching first base last week, any sightings of him either practicing or working out while on the IL?
