The Red Wings got three in the first, which turned out to be just enough for Brad Lord and a quartet of relievers to edge the Mets, 3-2. Lord scattered nine hits and gave up both Syracuse runs over five innings. He walked none and struck out four. Orlando Ribalta, Amos Willingham, and Joe LaSorsa each put up a goose egg for a hold while Rico Garcia tossed a 1-2-3 ninth for his 11th save. Harrisburg was a run short for the third time in four games to lose the first-half title and the game, 3-2. Chase Solesky lived up to his first name as the Yard Goats railroaded him for all three runs on four hits and and a walk over the space of ten batters. The Senators ‘pen did its job, shutting out Hartford for seven and 2/3rds innings on two hits and one walk with nine whiffs. The Harrisburg offense racked up 11 hits, but jsut two with RISP as the left on ten baserunners, including the tying run at second base to end the game. Andrew Pinckney led the way with three singles, followed by Cody Wilson and Daylen Lile who both had a single and a double.

Young lost his 7th game on those three runs (two earned) with five hits and no walks allowed. He struck out four. Like Harrisburg, Wilmington could get get ’em on, with Viandel Peña reaching base four times on three singles and a walk, and over (11 RISP chances). But just two of their nine hits delivered runs as they left on 13 baserunners.

FCL Nationals, 14-19, 4th place FCL East, 10GB
After a 1-4 week, the F-Nats have sunk into 4th place, two games out of 2nd and a game and a half out of 5th, thanks to the F-Marlins still having a single digit in the loss column. DSL Nationals, 6-8, T6th DSL Central, 5½ GB
The DSL Nationals won two of five to all to two games under .500 but are still 5½ games off the pace. It’s the usual off day on Wednesday, with road games Tuesday and Saturday and home games today, Thursday, and Friday.

Not only did the Senators leave ten men on base and go 2-13 with RISP, they batted out of order in the 4th inning! On a positive note, every reliever who came in was outstanding.

Brad Lord did what Brad Lord does albeit yesterday without his curveball. sling that low nineties cutter, move it up and down, in and out. the AAA hitters made more loud contact than their AA counterparts but with only one extra base hit and no walks minimal damage. if Wood doesn’t fumble an line drive single he likely holds them to one run. I think he is going to hold up just fine, if not shine in the Wing’s rotation.

Crews double in the first was a sight for sore eyes, turned on a 92 mph fastball one hop off the left field wall

didn’t watch the relievers but no walks overall for the staff has to please the higher ups

Looks like Wood hasn’t suffered too much in his absence. I know it’s only been 4 games, but he’s batting .250/.438/.500 in his return.

Marlon Perez might be the most disappointing pitcher this season, but it looks like he might have put his April-May struggles behind him. In June, he’s got a 3.68 ERA, 12K, 2BB and only 0.68 WHIP in 7 games.

Should be interesting how the Sens look in second half after a few additions and promotions to ROCH
