FCL Nationals, 1-4, FCL East, 3½ GB
The F-Nats won just once in Week 1, which is no surprise with the worst pitching in the league (7.4 R/G) and the second-worst offense (2.6 R/G). This week, it’s two trips to Port St. Lucie on Monday and Friday, home games on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a “road” game against the Astros on Saturday.
I’ve been traveling for the last several weeks. Catch me up on the studs and the duds. Sounds very promising with Lara. He’s one of the few (healthy) pitchers in the organization with supposed higher-tier talent.
two returning after injury absences, Cronin and De La Rosa fared very well and looked healthy.
Ribalta looking very sharp and ready for AAA (?)
Lile and Made continuing their solid starts in the Sally League, well above league averages
most of the younger prospects struggling at each level, Wood not included of course
welcome back

By the way you ever motor to Harrisburg to catch the action?
Barring weather I’ll be there 18 May
Motor over and I’ll buy you an ale
very kind of you, will have to make it another time however. cheers
Thanks. In a quick glance at the numbers, it also seems that Hassell has really stabilized his game. Still not huge power, but there’s a lot of value in being able to get on base at a .400 clip.
Yes KW Lara joins Alvarez
We are still awaiting a healthy Aggie Dustin Saenz who is a mystery to his length of absence to some of us .
Just a lot of pitchers maxxing
Out at 4-5 IP then the bullpens finish the 9 IP
Awaiting to see how JDR and Lile
Rise up the chain once the promotions upper tier happen .
Meanwhile some of us follow Chase Burns at Wake Forest .
Us cheap seat fans catch onto the promotions faster than the affiliate web site “ masters “.
Lara fits into rotation when this week ?
Supertramp The Logical Song
Atencio follows into Will to take Lara’s
Place
The cheap seat chorus cheers for Lara to AA. Bravo
Home plate blue was showing Alvarez Sunday love on Mother’s Day since we see The Fisher Cat skipper disappointed
His mother losing his cool Sunday getting tossed like Earl Weaver or Billy Martin .
Lol
Elijah Green has upped his game from get-him-outa-here to hopeless. He seems to be doing maybe a little something lately. The kid is just 20 and won’t turn 21 until December. He didn’t even strike out once yesterday! I realize I am reaching for some optimism, but does anybody see something in the distant future for this overall number five draft pick for the Nats?
The Nats really have no choice but to ride things out with Green (and Vaquero). With Wood and Crews farther up the food chain, there’s no immediate pressure or need for OF success in the short term. Green still has outstanding exit velocity, but the K numbers truly are insane. As strong as he is, he shouldn’t have to (over-) swing so hard.
Grant Paulsen tweeted out that Green’s homer yesterday was the second hardest hit ball in ALL of the minor leagues this season. Little snippets like that are why you don’t give up on the kid any time soon. If it clicks (BIG IF), his ceiling is crazy high.
Green also can run. He has 12 SBs, despite not getting on base that often.
Realize baseball is littered with great athletes who just can’t make consistent contact, but man, Green’s other tools will give him extra time to figure it out. Rooting for him, but he has such a long way to go to fix his swing and miss issues.
Yes, long way!
I was looking at the FCL roster and my brain said Alex Arias
Nope Luis
The years are flying by ..
