Brady Lindsly tied the game with a two-run HR following a one-out double in the 8th. Frankie Tostado did the same in the bottom of the 9th with a two-run triple, taking the “L” away from Gerson Moreno who retired two of seven batters faced in the 9th to dig the 5-2 hole. Hobie Harris took the loss by letting in the free runner on a single following a sacrifice. The Senators took an early 2-0 lead on a two-out, two-run single by Robert Hassell and never relinquished the lead for a 4-2 win. DJ Herz notched his first quality start and second win with six innings of one-run ball on four hits and three walks. He struck out six. The save went to Holden Powell, who hit a batter but struck out two. Harrisburg marched to an 11-hit parade, with Israel Pineda the beer man while James Wood hit his org-leading 26th HR and Dylan Crews reached base three times with two singles and a Robles.
This Senators team is the most talented Nats minor league team ever. It’s good to see that they’re finally starting to play like it.
Herz w/Cubs AA: 3.97 ERA, 3.84 FIP, 1.42 WHIP
Herz w/Nats AA: 2.55 ERA, 2.59 FIP, 1.13 WHIP
Advantage Hanrahan. They’ve turned him from just another guy into a legit prospect.
Herz threw 95.1 innings in 2022 and is at 94.1 this season so should be a prime AFL candidate.
I’m a believer in Hanrahan and Herz has definitely changed his delivery slightly but 5.1 BB/9 will need to be improved
Agreed, but still a tantalizing prospect.
I’m not sure how the rules of minor league control apply to Hernandez as a free agent signee vs draftee but at only 23 he could be a fixture in Rochester.
If he signed as an MLFA, it’s almost always a one-year contract
Looks like a rainout for us today in Harrisburg
Next season sure looks promising!
One almost wonders if Wood might just travel end of season with Big Club to learn the routines in the Show
