I wasn’t that impressed with Herz at the time of the trade, but maybe the Nats saw something that they thought they could fix. Very strong outing yesterday. The biggest deal with him is control, only two walks. Much like Parker, if he doesn’t walk guys, he can be very good.

I’m really impressed by the Pirates rebuild along with the Reds .
They seem to cultivate pitching outside the “ gutter ball lane “ called TJ syndrome at the lower levels . Luke , snarkle is your word right ?
      IKR
Blakenhorn reminds me of the guy who looked fab at ROCH then went to Mets
Come on guys when we were going through young women in our younger years names came and went … same as in baseball

Also, kudos to our guy Jake Alu for his first MLB homer. He couldn’t ask for a more golden opportunity for playing time than he has right now.

Something tells me that when the Nats east coast scouting chief looks back at his career in his retirement he will recall Alu as one of his biggest feathers in his career cap
I salute the memory of John Fay in Cincinnati thirty years I’d bringing the intel to baseball fans in Reds Country
As Joe Nuxhall always signed off on post game radio wrap ups : well this is the old left handeder rounding third and heading for home … well John Fay you’re heading home .. great career …
Speaking of Nuxhalls HOF booth mate Marty Brenneman , I recall Marty once on a broadcast in 1993 speaking about Rondell White and Cliff Floyd being called up to MTL yet Harrisburg still won nearly 100 games . Marty said with humor That’s sick .
Harrisburg perhaps hasn’t seen this type of athletes like Wood , Hassell , Young Lipscomb since the expo affiliation in the 90 s .
If only JDL could put all the factors together along with Elijah
      Having a revelation .
