The Rochester bullpen melted down for nine runs over the last four innings in a 10-5 loss to Syracuse, ending its six-game win streak. Paolo Espino went the first five and let in a run on a home run and three hits total. He walked three and struck out five and left with a 4-1 lead. Anthony Banda loaded the bases on a single and two walks then unloaded them on a triple for his second blown save. A sac fly put the Mets up 5-4. Derek Hill got one run back on an RBI triple but Tommy Romero and Alberto Baldonado teamed up to give up five more to put the game out of reach. Hill was a homer shy of the cycle and drove in three to lead the Red Wings offense, followed by Matt Adams with two singles and a walk. Roster moves: UT Jake Alu activated from 7-Day I.L.; 2B Darren Baker placed on the 7-Day I.L.

Harrisburg 13 Bowie 4
• Troop (W, 3-4) 6IP, 6H, 4R, 4ER, BB, 6K, HR(10)

Alex Troop wobbled through six innings, giving up four runs on six hits (one HR) and a walk while striking out six. Odalvi Javier got the save for finishing the game with three scoreless with two walks one hit allowed while setting down four on strikes. No reverse Curse of the GBI for Donovan Casey who was the beer man in a 14-hit parade led by the trio of Jack Dunn, J.T. Arruda, and Blake Rutherford, who each hit a HR and combined for seven hits, seven runs scored, and eight RBI.

Jacob Young took over the stolen-base lead with his 20th swipe while going 4-for-5 while the Blue Rocks smacked four HRs, with Matt Suggs collecting two of the longballs.

It seems weird to think of House as sort of the “forgotten” prospect — even before he turned 20! — but it’s really sort of been that way. He had an injury-riddled 2022 combined with the addition of shiny new objects like Wood, Green, and Hassell. I thought House was the highest-ceiling hitter in the 2021 draft and was shocked that he fell to the Nats. He’s slashing .312/.389/.536 with his K rate down to 22% and walks up to 11%. It definitely seems like time for promotion, although there’s a legit prospect ahead of him in the conga line, Trey Lipscomb, who just seems to be finding his stride. Not sure how they’ll manage that situation.

what are we to make of Jacob Young? while last year was notable for the number of AB’s they gave him (most likely for the effort he brings every day) he is putting up some nice stats in A+. oldish but not outrageously so. no room on City Isle for him. keep it going young man!

Young played some infield (2B) at Florida, and I’m curious why the Nats haven’t tried him in a utility role. His future as a corner OF without much power is going to be limited. And goodness knows they’ve stuck plenty of infielders in the outfield.

Too bad Nats don’t have Perry Hill around to instruct Young into super utility role like Casey Candaele with Expos under Buck Rodgers / Felipe Alou .

Listen to the Doctor ( Doobie Bros )
Hill in AAA is a typical 4 A er story . Nice effort in AAA but does that translate to the Big Shoe ( Ed Sullivan !)
What pitcher has anybody seen prior who Dustin Saenz reminds us of ?
Truly last start at A plus .
What does Nats have in the grab bag of arms : Luckham , Huff , Cornelio , Young .. etc ?
Some fans here have their eye brows go up seeing the arms toeing the bump after anthem tonight .

Senators website says TBD starter but Luke you list Cuevas as projected starter .
Bullpen outing this Sunday as usual ?

Nope, I post what I get from the PR/Media team for everyone but Wilmington, which does not have one.

With an ERA of 1.91 and a WHIP of 0.99 it’s more than time for Dustin Saenz to face stiffer competition.
