Toledo dropped two-spots in both the 1st and 2nd innings to take a 4-0 lead and cruised to a 5-2 win over Rochester. Logan Verrett stuck around through the 7th, giving up the aforementioned four runs on six hits (two HR) and a walk while striking out four. Donovan Casey drove in both Red Wings runs with an RBI double in the 2nd and an RBI single in the 6th.

The Senators scored in five of the first six innings and outslugged the Flying Squirrels for an 8-5 win. Jake Irvin made it through just two innings, with four runs allowed on seven hits and a walk while striking out two and hitting a batter. The win went to Steven Fuentes with four scoreless innings, with three baserunners allowed on two walks and a hit. Wilson Garcia, Trey Harris, and Drew Millas each homered to account for five of the eight runs. Omar Mergildo led the hit column with three singles while Robert Hasell singled and doubled to extend his hitting streak to five games, though he’s still riding the Interstate at .177 along with Yasel Antuna (.184) who doubled and walked twice.

Wilmington was held to just three hits as Brooklyn edged them, 2-1, and eliminated them from the 2nd-half title race. Michael Cuevas lost for the 12th time in 25 appearances with five innings of two-run ball on eight hits and a walk while fanning four. Carlos Romero closed out the game with three scoreless, giving up three hits, no walks, and striking out two. Cody Wilson doubled and scored on Cole Daily’s two-out single in the 5th while Onix Vega rounded out the Blue Rocks hit column with the third hit, a single. He also drew the only Wilmington walk.
