A five-run 3rd did the trick as the Red Wings dropped their tenth straight game, 7-4 to the RailRiders. MLB Rehab Will Harris “worked on some stuff” for a home run in the top of the 1st, which was “good enough” for the loss. Donovan Casey singled twice and scored a run while Dee Strange-Gordon walked and singled in his return.

Harrisburg erased a 3-0 deficit with two in the 7th and one in the top of the 8th but Akron got an unearned run in the bottom of the 8th to pull out a 4-3 win. Jake Irvin went the first five and allowed the first three RubberDuck runs on five hits and a walk. He struck out five. Francys Peguero took the loss, his fourth, as he was unable to work around an error to lead off the 8th inning. Omar Meregildo and Israel Pineda hit back-to-back HRs in the 7th while Wilson Garcia tied it at 3-3 with a two-out single in the 8th, which would be the fifth and final hit for the Sens.

Make that three straight shutouts of the Blue Rocks by the BlueClaws with a 6-0 whitewash in Game Five. Michael Cuevas became the first 10-game loser in the minors, as he was charged with five runs (four earned) on nine hits (two HR) over five and 2/3rds innings. He walked four and struck out two. Jeremy De La Rosa singled and doubled while Drew Millas singled and tripled to account for four of the seven Wilmington hits.

Armando Cruz’s 10th error led to both FAB runs as the F-Nats dropped this one, 2-1 in seven innings. Brayan Romero made his second appearance since coming up from the DSL, tossing two scoreless innings with one hit, two walks, and three whiffs. Kevin Rodriguez took the loss, allowing both runs on five hits over three innings. He walked none and fanned. Cruz tripled and scored the lone run on a Roismar Quintana sac fly in the 1st. The F-Nats were held to five hits total and did not draw a walk.

The D-Nats blew a 6-1 lead but rallied for five in the bottom of the 7th to pull away for an 11-7 win over the D-Braves. Starter Marcos Fortunato turned in five innings of one-run ball on four hits and one walk while striking out a career-high nine. Josue Carmona let in one inherited runner, walked two, struck out one while getting out of the top of the 7th but got the (dreaded) blown-save-win when his teammates broke the game open. Sebastian Castro led the D-Nats 13-hit parade with two singles and a double followed by Winder Diaz with two singles and two walks.
