Alu doubles master
Sharp telepathically knew he’d be on the Luke bad column so he stoked it last night
Let’s talk about scouts. These anonymous people toil in complete obscurity for their whole lives. One day a scout working in Texas went to a High School game for one reason or another. And then he saw something.
Michael Cuevas was pitching for a small school outside San Antonio. He did not receive any scholarship offers from any big school, only lower level schools. A scout saw something that no one else did.
The Nats drafted Cuevas in the 23rd round and paid him a maximum bonus of $125,000. He’s now 21 years old and has a rising star quality to him.
Aaron Barrett have a blessed life after baseball !!
Hope they make a movie of his career!!!!
Interesting: Barrera absolutely fell apart in June, yet got promoted. That should all leave Stevenson wondering what he has to do, although he knows the facts of life of being out of options. I’m sure the big club feels like it gave Stevo an extended audition last season, and he responded by hitting .229 with a 29% K rate. That’s the frustrating part when you look at his AAA numbers, as he’s still striking out too much and not walking enough. A crazy .405 BABIP is making him look good.
Barrera was “demoted up” in that the team wanted to get Adams regular work/at bats. Although some of that work may be at 1b to see if he’s a viable option after they trade Bell.
TJ White is a monster! Hopefully he avoids the gbi curse and becomes a draft day steal.
SD, do you want to co-chair the T.J. White fan club with me and KW?
Sign me up! Tomorrow Wilmington! Then the world!
The beat rolls on for TJ White. 1-3 with a double, 2bb, 2r, 2rbi. OPS up to .833.
