Rochester loaded the bases on two singles and a walk with one out before Joey Meneses hit a high-hop grounder that Buffalo’s drawn-in third baseman could not snag cleanly for the 2-1 walk-off win. Stephen Strasburg made his third rehab start and went six innings, allowing one hit and one walk while fanning four. His velocity was diminished but his breaking stuff was not. Strasburg left with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Donovan Casey’s 5th HR. Alberto Baldonado lost that lead with a run let in on two hits in the 8th. The win went to Reed Garrett with a 1-2-3 ninth including two whiffs.
Roster moves: RHP Stephen Strasburg reassigned from Fredericksburg for MLB rehab; RHP Matt Brill reassigned from Harrisburg; RHP Andres Machado, IF Lucius Fox recalled to Washington.

Alex Troop made the spot start and shut out Erie for five innings on two hits and a walk while fanning a season-best nine batters. The save went to Reid Schaller who struck out four of five batters, including one with the bases loaded and two down in the 8th. Wilson Garcia singled twice, doubled once, and smacked his fifth HR to drive in three. Jack Dunn matched his four-hit total with three singles and a double and scored three runs. Harrisburg left on 13 runners and did not hit into a double play as they were 4-for-21 with RISP.

Wilmington rallied for three runs with two out in the 5th and saw the game-winner score on a wild pitch in the 8th for a 4-3 win over Greensboro. Seth Shuman ent the first five and allowed a run on a homer and two hits total. He walked none and set down five on strikes. Matt Merrill failed to register a clean outing for the eighth time in nine appearances with two runs allowed over an inning and 2/3rds. Amos Willingham cordero’d around back-to-back singles to open the 9th with the help of a 2-5-3 double play on a failed sacrifice attempt to earn the save, his first. You’ve got Teel’s name by Troop’s very impressive game line. Teel actually came in and struggled. Troop now sports a 2.67 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and dominant 11.5 K/9. If they’re looking for someone to stretch out as a starter, I would suggest that guy.
Glad to see some of the promotion conga line finally moving.
Fixed it in one place, but not the other… Troop has a history of performing better as a reliever than a starter, but I’d rather see him try than Reyes who continues to get chances for no apparent reason.
An end to a good PD week would be JR going 4
Cavilli has turned the corner
ETA month 2022 of one Matt Cronin ??
Cuevas willl be gold when JR becomes a reliever …
Tip the cap at the Tigers Saturday as Sens lost to a future OF in RF
Anticipating a long Sunday coffee inspired chat log on one JR
So much to talk about today.
The front office has woken up a little, better late than never.
Congratulations to Zach Brcykcy and Rodney Theophile for well deserved promotions.
Luke, your tech staff is off, it was Alex Troop who had the great start for Harrisburg and now has a 2.67 ERA for the year.
At Fredericksburg, DeLaRosa, Pene, and Emiliani all sat on the bench for the game., which explains the weak offense and does wonders for their development.
Even I felt Teel would have made for a nice 3 inning dude
But senators have the Ts to eat some innings as the pipeline progresses

Especially in the OF for Sens
What’s up with Rhinesmith ?
Mendez not earning a bump to AA yet …
Rhinesmith is on the IL. I don’t know the injury.
A hotel pillow like Sanchez for Rhinesmith ? Lol
Mark L interesting how Zach has surged ahead of the crop of NCAA bullpen arms
UCLA alum guy , Peterson , Moore ( disappointment in his injury after a good 2021)
Seeing Troop for the first time I’d offer that he knows how to pitch, has good command and for at least one night missed a lot of bats. No one pitch jumped out as exceptional and the broadcast lacked any info on his velocity. I’d keep trotting him out there and keep moving him up, he’s earned that opportunity. It’s hard to envision him more than middle relief/bullpen innings eater but as we’ve seen watching Guerra and Espino that role has value.
Brady House in a slump.
Wishing him a happy 19th birthday, though!
