Rochester 11 Buffalo 2
• Henry (W, 1-0) 5IP, 3H, 0R, BB, 3K
• Abbott 2⅔ IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 2BB, 6K
• Stevenson 3-3, 4R, BB, 2B(15), HR, 3RBI, SB
• Adrianza 2-3, 2B, 2RBI
• Ad. Sanchez 2-4, 2R, HR, 2RBI
Rochester busted out of the gate with six runs in the 1st and never looked back as they took the series finale, 11-2, and the series, 4-2. Cole Henry actually pitched like he had a big lead and came right at the Buffalo batters, putting his classic arsenal to good use. The 2020 2nd Rd. pick tossed a season-high five scoreless innings with three hits and one walk allowed and three K’s to win his AAA debut. Andrew Stevenson reached base four times with an infield single, a walk, his 15th double, and his third HR to lead the Red Wings’ 11-hit, two-walk offense.
Erie 6 Harrisburg 3
• Irvin (L, 0-1) 4⅓ IP, 6H, 4R, 4ER, BB, 3K
• Brzykcy 1IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Alu 3-5, R, 2-2B, HR, RBI
• G. Lara 2-3
It was quite the opposite for Jake Irvin in his AA debut as the SeaWolves took the air out of his sails with a four-run 1st as they doubled up the Senators, 6-3, and took the series, 5-1. Irvin did right the ship and pitch into the 5th for his longest outing of the season but took the loss. He allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while fanning three. Jake Alu racked up eight total bases with two doubles and his seventh HR while Gilbert Lara singled twice in three trips to the plate. Mitch Longo also homered as Harrisburg finished with nine hits and two walks.
Greensboro 4 Wilmington 2
• Knowles 4IP, 3H, 0R, 0BB, 4K
• Taylor (BS, 1; L, 0-1) ⅔ IP, 2H, 4R, 4ER, 1BB, 0K, 2HR, HBP
• Barley 2-4, CS
• Baker 1-2, RBI
Wilmington nursed a 2-0 lead into the 8th but gave up four runs on two homers in the 8th to drop the game, 4-2, but still won the series, 4-2. Lucas Knowles made the spot start and tossed four scoreless innings, allowing three hits, no walks, and fanning four. Curtis Taylor walked a batter, hit a batter, then, after a sacrifice, gave up a three-run HR and solo HR for the blown-save-loss. The Blue Rocks drew six walks but collected just six hits, with Jordy Barley the sole batter to have multiple hits.
Fayetteville 6 Fredericksburg 5
• Collins ⅔ IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 2K
• M. Perez (L, 0-2) 2IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 2K
• Emiliani 2-3, R, 2B, BB, RBI
• Ge. Diaz 2-3, 2B, RBI, 2E
• Arias 2-4, RBI
The FredNats dropped the series finale, 6-5, the series, 4-2, and fell back to .500 at 25-25. Starter Brendan Collins didn’t make it out of the 1st as it was deuces wild: two runs, two hits, two walks, and two strikeouts. The loss went to Marlon Perez, who let in two runs on two hits and a walk over two innings. Fredericksburg had two chances in the late innings, getting the tying and go-ahead runs on in the 8th but hiting into a double play. In the 9th, Viandel Peña tried to stretch a one-out double into a triple but was thrown out.
Roster moves: C Geraldi Diaz reinstated from the 7-Day I.L.
Here’s a leaderboard. I’ll put the spotlight on Zach Brzykcy, who recently got promoted to Harrisburg and has struck out 42 in 22 innings this year. Turns 23 on 7/12. Signed as FA in July after the shortened 2020 draft, out of Virginia Tech.

The story is there were three post-promotion debuts yesterday. Henry was spotless, Brzykcy struck out the side and Irvin settled down. Good day.
As usual, the FredNats were 3 for 12 with RISP.
Sens having a rough go with Altoona and Erie who both have some good prospects .
We might see young A Ramirez take the bump for FC Nats this day
FC Nats sound like a soccer club
This FCL roster looks up to date (it has the movement of Seijas from FRE to FCL Nationals.)

Aldo is listed as being on the IL there.
I like how the roster page has a link to “False Transactions”.
Thanks Nat!
Yes let Vaquero Percy Kate on the DR isle but seeing him in west palm later summer not out of the question
Karlo Seijas on a rehab aka stretch him out again ?
LOL, the FCL roster lists eight outfielders. Lile had a TJ in the spring so presumably won’t be available. Was it ever determined whether Aldo Ramirez actually had surgery, or just arm issues?
Bonus baby Armando Cruz debuts stateside, and much buzzed about Roismar Quintana may actually get to play more than seven games. Some of us have been very interested in Will Frizzell based on his big draft spring at Texas A&M.
Lefty Pablo Aldonis in bump for FCL
Armando Cruz singles
Angel Gerardo 2 run single
C DeLaRosa leading off
Henry sure looks like the real deal. He’s just got to stay healthy. Glad they’re being careful with him.
Brzykcy sure looks like something, too. Considering all of the absolute stiffs and nobodies who are being cycled through the MLB bullpen, there’s nothing standing in the way of rapid promotion.
I haven’t seen anything on Austin Voth. Does anyone know if he is reporting to Rochester or electing free agency?
It usually depends if they get to keep their major league money if they stay. Related to service time. It’s very complicated but I do know that Andrew Stevenson kept his $780,000 salary because it was agreed to before the lockout.
Don’t know about Voth.
Eris Filpo signed as free agent off Rangers waiver wire for the complex club
