Rochester jumped to a 4-0 lead after two and held off Lehigh Valley for a 4-3 win to even the series at two games apiece. Jackson Tetreault fell two outs shy of qualifying for the win, as he was lifted after four and a 1/3rd and 92 pitches thrown. He let in two runs on four hits, walked five, and struck out four. Reed Garrett was credited with the win despite giving up a run in the 6th. Jordan Weems and Alberto Baldonado combined for three perfect innings of relief to earn the hold and save respectively. Veteran backstop Chris Herrmann and newcomer Josh Palacios combined to go 4-for-6 with two walks, a double (Herrmann), and three RBI to lead the Red Wings’ 10-hit parade.
Harrisburg 7 Reading 2

The Senators rolled to their sixth straight win, 7-2 over the Fightin Phils. Cole Henry continues to pitch just three innings at a time and tossed three no-hit frames with a walk and five whiffs to maintain his 0.00 ERA across three appearances and 9IP. Alex Troop went the next three, letting in both Reading runs on two hits, no walks, and five K’s. Francys Peguero, who still does not like having his picture taken, close it out with three scoreless to earn the save. He gave up one hit and fanned five. Brady Lindsly singled twice and homered while Jecksson Flores singled, doubled, and drove in a run as every Harrisburg batter reached base – including K.J. Harrison with a Homer Simpson RBI in the 1st.
Roster moves: RHP Ramon Santos placed on the 7-day I.L. retroactive to 4/21; RHP Danny Dopico assigned from Washington (MLFA).

A five-run 6th broke open a 4-0 game as Wilmington defeated Hickory, 10-3 to even the series at 2-2. Returning from Nats’ elbow, Jake Irvin put in his three innings of work with an efficient 31 strikes on 39 pitches. He gave up two hits, no walks, and fanned three. Tim Cate made his season debut with four scoreless innings, with four hits allowed, no walks, and three whiffs to earn the win. José Sánchez was the beer man in the Blue Rocks’ 12-hit, four-hit attack, which included an 8-for-16 mark with RISP and just six runners left on. Omar Meregildo led the Wilmington hit column with a single, double, and a homer while Yasel Antuna drew three walks to pull into a three-way tie for the Sally League lead with 13BB and a Soto-esque .444 OBP.

Fredericksburg 12 Kannapolis 5

The FredNats administered a paternity test for the second time in three games as they bombed the Cannon Ballers, 12-5. Starter Brendan Collins struck out a career-high of nine while picking up his first professional win. He allowed two runs on four hits (one HR) and walked none. Karlo Seijas finished the game and was awarded the save despite a pedestrian line of three runs on five hits, including a HR in the 9th while issuing a walk and setting down three on strikes. Fredericksburg clinched the game with a four-run 2nd, despite having the first two runners walk and then get thrown out trying to steal. Geraldi Diaz reached base five times, Viandel Peña four times, and Branden Boisserie three times – missing the cycle by a home run. Some nobody named Brady House also had three hits and two RBI to extend his on-base streak to 13 games.
Fredericksburg now has 5 hitters with a .900 OPS and above, led by Emiliani with a 1.276 OPS. Could we see him and Brady House move up together?
Cole Henry has pitched 3 games now, all of 3 innings each with no earned runs. He’s only 22 and was injured twice last year so the caution is understandable.
The 1st week of the season I looked at Harrisburg’s lineup and didn’t see where the offense was coming from. The last 4 games they’ve averaged 10+ runs a game.
Danny Dipico sounds like a member of the NYPD vice group from Serpico
Jackson T must have had an ump with a tight strike zone on a fabulous farm Friday night on divine Mother day 2222222
A Burdi for Red Wings

Let’s see how Sanchez fares in the Bigs now
Throughout 2021 it seemed like a rare good day when 2 of the 4 minor league teams won games. 2022 has been much improved. The organizational changes and the adoption of modern technology seem to have worked wonders.
Cole Henry continues to dominate really everywhere he has been thus far. If he could stay healthy and show durability it seems he would be a sure fire top 100 prospect. Interesting but could Henry could Henry be more polished than Cavalli. Be interesting to see how he performs when/if they take the training wheels off.
In regards to House moving up, I don’t think he is ready yet based on results. While his OPS is solid and batting average is great, his strikeout rate at Low A is a bit high, not terrible though. But the major issue for me right now is his power output. His calling card is power, while he has 4 doubles, he only has one homer. So he hasn’t fully tapped into his power against lower level pitching yet. Once he does I think you move him up. I mean if he keeps hitting .370 you move him up eventually but be cautious.
Can I just say Jake Irvin might be a real prospect. I heard he was hitting mid 90s consistently and he seemed to really be improving before Tommy John with a velo uptick. Be interesting to see his progress.

Looking at the haul from last years deadline deals:
1. K. Ruiz MLB
2. J. Gray MLB
3. D. Casey AAA
4. G. Carillo AA (IL)
5. L. Thomas MLB
6. M. Thompson MLB (IL)
7. R. Adams MLB
8. R. Guasch AA
9. S. Shuman A+
10. J. Barley A+
11. D. Millas A
12. A. Ramirez “where’s Aldo?”
Don’t know how much to expect from this group, but if Gray Ruiz and 1 or 2 others become MLB productive players I’d consider it a success.
Jury still out on 8 and nine but time and innings
