The WooSox had a no-hitter through five but the Red Wings were matching them zero for zero until Humberto Arteaga broke up the no-hitter with a one-out single in the 6th. Daniel Palka and Jake Noll hit back-to-back doubles to break up the shutout and take a 2-0 lead. Palka homered in the 9th to give the ‘pen some breathing room, but Bryan Bonnell did not need it, as the 27-y.o. racked up his fourth save in as many chances with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Five pitchers combined on the three-hit, 3-0 shutout, with Joan Adon giving up the first two safeties and three walks over four innings while fanning seven in his AAA debut. Dakota Bacus gave up the third and final hit over his two innings to earn the “W.” Gabe Klobosits struck out the side in the 7th while Aaron Barrett worked around a one-out walk with a double play to get through the 8th and earn holds, the second and third respectively.

The D-Nats had but one hit in fourteen scoring chances, but it was the difference in a 2-1 win over the D-Cards Blue. Doimil Perez got the start and let in the D-Cards Blue run on two walks and two Victor Robles. Juan Abreu and Gustavo Rivas combined for five and 2/3rds scoreless innings while Michael Francisco got the last four outs to win for the second time. Cristian Batista, Winder Diaz, Jean Estrada each had a single while Eliesel Santana scored both runs and drew two of the seven walks by the D-Nats.
The fact that Adon spent most of his season at High A and has made a respectable showing at Rochester is very encouraging. He’s still only 23.
I wish we knew the story with Donovan Casey. After a .965 OPS in August he started 3 for 31 in September, then had a little spark but is now again 3 for 31. Something’s up.
Was the roster for the instruxs a secret. I havent info anywhere.
They’re rarely released nowadays… a little telling that when I search for them, I come across posts from this site in 2012 and 2013.
