The Bisons stampeded the Red Wings for four runs in the 7th to break a 3-3 tie and held on for an 8-6 win. Rochester starter Sterling Sharp wasn’t as the 26-y.o. walked six in four and 2/3rds innings while giving up three runs on three hits. Alberto Baldonado took the loss as he allowed five consecutive batters to reach base with one out and allowed four to score. Jake Noll singled once and doubled twice while Yadiel Hernandez hit his first homer to drive in two as the Red Wings totaled 11 hits on the night. Same for Blue Rocks in Wilmington as they withstood the Cyclones, 9-8 in regulation. Evan Lee got the start and labored through four and a 1/3rd innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks. He threw 77 pitches and struck out four and left with a 6-3 lead. Newcomer Kyle Hinton did not endear himself to his teammates with four runs allowed on two hits and three walks while finishing the 5th. Luckily, the offense was on as every man in the lineup had a hit, led by Jacob Rhinesmith and Andrew Pratt, who both had two singles and a double. The win came on a leadoff walk by Jack Dunn, a sacrifice turned into a bunt single by Armond Upshaw, and Justin Connell’s second safety for the game-winner. Lynchburg jumped on Fredericksburg for four runs in the 1st and cruised to an 8-2 win. Karlo Seijas became the second starter in the organization to lose five games (Ben Braymer) as he let in the first five Hillcats runs on eight hits (one HR) and a walk over four innings. The 20-y.o. Venezuelan did strike out six, as did Troy Stainbrook in three innings of relief. Jake Arruda reached base three times with a walk, double, and a single to pace the F-Nats attack.
