The IronPigs broke out for four in the 3rd to break open a 1-0 game and cruise a 7-2 win over the RedWings. Starting and losing pitcher Rogelio Armenteros and the strike zone were estranged as the 26-y.o. Cuban walked five over two and a 1/3rd innings and was charged with five runs on three hits. He struck out three. Jake Noll singled twice and drove in a run while Yasmany Tomás reached base three times with a single and two walks to lead the eight-hit, five-walk offense.

Somerset 2 Harrisburg 0
• Reyes (L, 0-1) 4⅔ IP, 6H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 2K
• A. Lee 2⅓ IP, 0H, 0R, 3BB, 1K, 2-0 IR-S
• Mendoza 1-3
• Corredor 1-4, 2B

Harrisburg managed just three hits against Somerset in a 2-0 shutout loss. Luis Reyes went the first four and 2/3rds, giving up both Patriots runs on six hits and two walks, and was charged with the loss. Andrew Lee stranded two while getting the last out in the 5th and put up two more goose eggs while Jhon Romero worked around a walk in the 8th to keep things in shouting distance. Drew Mendoza and Jackson Cluff both singled, Alex Dunlap and Rhett Wiseman both walked while Aldrem Corredor doubled as the Senators left on just three baserunners, “thanks” to a double play and Cluff getting caught stealing.

Aberdeen 3 Wilmington 0
• E. Lee (L, 0-1) 1⅔ IP, 3H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB, 4K
• Peguero 4⅓ IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 4K, 3-1 IR-S
• Connell 1-3, OF assist at 3B
• Canning 1-3

The Blue Rocks were shut out in a single game for the first time, 3-0, and remain shut out for the 2021 season with their fifth straight loss. Evan Lee got knocked from the box in the 2nd as he let in all three Ironbirds runs on three hits and two walks for the loss. Francys Peguero led a trio of relievers that combined for seven and a 1/3rd scoreless innings, three hits, and four walks. Like an ugly stripper, the Wilmington offense came away with just five singles with no batter reaching base twice and Yasel Antuna (0-for-17 thus far) drawing the only walk.

Lynchburg 7 Fredricksburg 1
• Theophile 4IP, 2H, 1R, 0ER, 2BB, 4K
• Strom (L, 0-1) 2⅔ IP, 7H, 6R, 5ER, 2BB, 5K, HBP
• Berríos 1-4
• Arruda 1-4

Fredericksburg avoided the shutout but remains winless as Lynchburg took their fifth straight, 7-1. Rodney Theophile allowed an unearned run on two hits and two walks over four innings in his first regular-season appearance since August 25, 2018. The loss went to Leif Strom with the next six runs let in on seven hits, two walks, and a Victor Robles. Allan Berríos, Jake Arruda, Jake Randa accounted for all three hits while Justin Connell, Paul Witt, and Jake Boone each drew a walk.
