Picked up in the 2018 trade with Milwaukee for Gio Gonzalez, Lara is one of two incumbents on this watchlist. He was likely to have repeated the level in 2020 after a lackluster 2019 season. In a pinch, he can play short but third base is where he belongs, and it was his glove (and a lack of depth in the organization) that got him here to begin with. | |

Meregildo went back-and-forth between High-A and Low-A and only played in 89 games despite no stints on the D.L. Like Lara, he’s a holdover from 2020 and was a holdover from 2019 for the lack of depth at 3B in the organization as well. He’s not quite the fielder that Lara is but gets on base more and has touch more power. |
