Reetz was invited spring training and the Alternate Training site in 2020, though it should be noted that catchers are often invited to the former out of necessity. It’s not clear why Reetz isn’t a free agent, having already served six seasons (2014-2019). 2020 was to have been a critical year for him after breaking out in the 2nd half of 2019 and earning a trip to the Arizona Fall League.
Israel Pineda   Israel Pineda

Career Stats
Despite a decidedly lackluster 2019 (.583 OPS) and Read-esque defensive skillset (44% CS, 26PB in 84G), Pineda also made it to Fredericksburg in 2020 and was invited to instrux this past fall. The company line is that Pineda’s 2018 hand injury affected his offense in 2019, which was also his first full season (i.e. pitchers got more looks), that his DOB is an asset, and that a year of conditioning and coaching will enable him to revert to 2018 form.
Geraldi Diaz   Geraldi Diaz

A former “DSL Guy,” Diaz made it stateside in 2019, albeit for a very small sample size – 24G, 95 PA)
One of last year’s “DSL Guys,” Diaz finally made it stateside and showed promise in very small sample size (24G, 95PA). Diaz racked up five Robleses but also drew 13 walks for a career-best .415 OBP. He’ll turn 21 in July and could appear in either the GCL or in Low-A if the 2021 season is played.
Geraldi Diaz   Ivan Murzi

Murzi made the 2020 Watchlist on the strength of two leading indicators: a late-season callup from the DSL to the GCL and five HRs in 30 games as an 18-y.o. Defensively, you might be better off watching reruns of “Cop Rock” – five errors and eight passed balls in just 26 games. Like Pineda, when he receives the ball cleanly he’s able to throw out basestealers with a 41% CS rate in 59 games total.
