Happy Thanksgiving
In my heart, I wish for everyone to be with their families and loved ones today. Because that’s what Thanksgiving has become, despite some of its ugly origins, or that’s the 35-yard-line for the 4th Qtr in Retail.
In my head, I know that tens of millions of people will ignore the warnings of the CDC and do Thanksgiving unsafely in person instead of virtually, putting their wants ahead of everyone else’s needs, the cost to others unseen and unconsidered. Except, as we saw this past summer, others will pay for it.
But I’ll stop now because as my wife reminds me, you’re here for something else, even if we have no idea how and when that something else will return.
I am thankful for this community of fans to serve and interact with in the comments. That you’ve stuck around for so long when I couldn’t possibly blame you for moving on or waiting until all this is over. It’s a huge part of what motivates me to keep this thing going.
Now, for the Annual Instructions:
- Stay safe
- Show some plate discipline
- Call your mother
Happy Thanksgiving to all involved here and to all the Nats fans who appreciate the work done to make this site essential. We declined family offers of holiday feasting to stay safe in our home. I wish I could call my mother to tell her how thankful I am for all she did for me, but she is no longer with us. SO, don’t wait–call your mother now.
Luke, my thanks as well for your hard work keeping the faith alive for all of us. I mean, what could be harder than writing about prospects when we’ve not seen them live in over a year.
Next year looks to be a glorious return to normal. Not sure when next year but I can’t wait.
Happy thanksgiving to my American neighbors. Be safe and thankful for your health – everything else comes second.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. And yes, I did call my mother!
