Sorry, kids, but those two OF assists are from dumbass baserunning.
Roster move: UT Wilmer Difo assigned from Fresno for MiLB rehab.
After a gosh-awful start that had his BA down to .132, De La Rosa has eight hits plus four walks over his last six games. Perhaps he’s starting to figure out a few things.
Let’s see. Carl Sagan might analyze this : Harrisburg scores 14 runs in 77 F
Fresno scores a paltry 8 in 98-102 F San Jojaquin Valley heat
Hmmmmm . This comment might get the joint jumping. : working to dfw on the airline which has carried a few Fresno call – ups to DC, I was able to speak with a couple Memphis Redbirds who were heading home to Memphis including Max Schrok who I told about how some Nats fans were hoping this past winter he would return to the fold in Rule. V.
Two autographs not bad for an 0 dark hundred departure ….
The connecting flight in dfw after Fresno is ironically Dulles out of safe gate. You think the Lerner’s have pull in Big D?? Lol
Luke, correct me if I’m wrong about this, but don’t I remember there being some questions about Robles’s arm when he was at Potomac? I think they said his 99 mph heater on Monday to embarrass Votto at the plate was the fourth-hardest OF throw this season.
Then the throw last night to 3 b topped the assist getting Votto @ HP
I don’t recall that criticism; mostly I remember he was dinged for baserunning and getting hit by pitches.
Just looking at the Harrisburg stats. In the 27 games since promotion, getting to a representative sample size, Nick Banks is now slashing .312/.379/.452. He has seven hits plus five walks over his last five games. I think he’s still going to have to show more HR power as a corner OF to start getting some real buzz, but things have started to come together for him at age 24. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the AZ Fall League to get tested among the real prospects.
It’s always been said that you don’t know what you have in a prospect until you see them in AA.
If that’s the case it bodes well for Nick Banks.
Maybe he needed those 1,150 at bats in A ball. Heaven knows we need a few hitting prospects.

Free Dakota Bacus. A 3.58 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP in the PCL/beer league.
Karlo Seijas is quietly killing it down in Florida. A potential fast riser in his age-19 season next year if he can keep it up in A ball. I absolutely skip him past Auburn and have him play full-season ball if it’s me.
I’m interested to see what lesson the Nats take away from the Austin L. Adams and Jimmy Cordero experiences. Do they give James Bourque more of an extended look in spite of his struggles, or do they cut bait quick — try to stash him in the minors in case something clicks for him, but if not, oh well?
Hi everyone. Maybe i missed it, but what’s going on with Mason Denaburg? His last start was i believe August 3 and his performance up to then has been terrible. I did not read anything about an injury, so, that begs the question – are his mechanics completely messed up? What’s going on? Given that he seemed to have spent an abnormal amount of time in extended spring training, there sure are a lot of red flags…
Agreed.
Denaburg wouldn’t be the first pitcher to be drafted then go MIA… and probably won’t be the last under the Rizzo regime. We have no spies down there, so we’re forced to rely on MiLB.com, BA, and the Nats. While BA’s gotten a little better about being editorially independent at the macro level (e.g. International Free Agency), it rarely contradicts or questions info at the team level.
