I questioned Rutledge’s shaky early starts, so please note that I’m giving him props for a excellent one, now two in a row. Sure wish Denaburg would show similar signs of life.

Luke, I’m curious about your take on what we should think about Raquet at this stage. He was decent yesterday, but he’s still got a 4.74 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in his second year at A+. He’s only 23, and he was a 3d rounder, so they’ll give him some extra time, but on paper, it sure looks like it’s time to try the Grace/Guilbeau bullpen route.

Stoeckinger is a couple of months younger than Raquet, still trying to get out of Hagerstown. And Fuentes is a year and a half younger than both of them . . .

Anyway, there have been some interesting pitching develops in the system this year, and the Top 10 Arms list should look more promising going forward than it did last offseason. It would be an interesting exercise to try to do one now.

I’d have to agree: he’s holding a spot in the rotation because there are few other options and as you noted his draft position is going to earn him extra chances. But the improvements have. Been. So. Slow. To. Come.

Justin Miller . Fresno CA native. Suns addition. Former Phillies hand .
Hence no promotion from Auburn. Interesting

Good to see a big game from Michael Taylor. He now has hits in five straight games, albeit TWELVE strikeouts over the same period. Maybe he can get hot before the trade deadline and rebuild a little value. I assume the Nats sent him to Harrisburg instead of Fresno to keep him close in case of immediate call-up, but he’s really struggled overall. Don’t know who they will call to replace Zim.

If Ryan 11 goes on the DL could we see a return of Mark Reynolds to Nats fold ??

      Probably Noll.

They made their bed by needlessly putting him on the 40 man so now they have to lay in it.

To Noll’s credit he’s finally found some offense and been on a hot stretch recently hitting .351/.385/.550 over his past 29 games.

Unfortunately a .934 OPS isn’t all that impressive in the PCL.

Andrew Stevenson and Blazek get recalled. Zimmerman to the IL. Justin Miller to the 60 day DL. Miller has been on the DL more than 60 days — since May 17; so, he could be activated whenever he is ready to pitch again.

      McGowin back to Harrisburg also.

Maybe justin Miller is a choice before adding another reliever by the trade deadline
Luke , where is Andrew Karp after a year plus in the org basically still in the XST zone ??
Not even Gil Chu called up from auburn to hags to fill a bullpen stretch / flex position …Justin Miller the free agent from Phils org .
Deadlines and commitments. .. bob segar….
