Reno 7 Fresno 6
• Espino 6IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, 0BB, 6K, HR
• Cordero (BS, 2) 1IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, BB, 3K, WP
• Adams (L, 0-1) 1IP, 3H, 3R, 2ER, 0BB, 2K, WP
• Hernandez 4-5, 3R, 2HR, 3RBI
• Snyder 2-5, R, 2-2B
• Stevenson 2-5, 2R, 2B
Jimmy Cordero was magic in the 9th as he made a 4-2 lead disappear as the Grizzlies lost their fifth straight, 7-6 in 10 innings. Austin Adams didn’t issue a walk but did give up three hits and three runs in the 10th to take the loss. The implosion wasted a quality start by Fresno starter Paolo Espino (6IP, 2R) and two scoreless innings of relief from Derek Self, who struck out four while earning his first hold. Yadiel Hernandez singled twice, homered twice, scored thrice, and drove in three while Andrew Stevenson, Jake Noll, and Brandon Snyder each went 2-for-5 to account for 11 of the 13 Grizzlies hits.
Harrisburg 7 Reading 5
• Tetreault (W, 1-0) 5IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 4K, WP
• Bourque (SV, 5) 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 4K
• Garcia 3-5, R
• Goeddel 2-4, BB
• Wiseman 2-5, RBI, SB
Jackson Tetreault won his Eastern League debut with five innings of two-run ball in Harrisburg’s 6-5 win over Reading – its 20th in 24 games and third straight. Tetreault walked three and struck out four while giving up three hits. After Taylor Guilbeau made things interesting with three runs allowed in two innings, James Bourque struck out four in the 8th and 9th innings to shut the door and earn his fifth save. Luis Garcia led the Senators hit column with three singles while Tyler Goeddel also reached base three times with two singles and a walk to pace the offense. Roster moves: RHP Jackson Tetreault promoted from Potomac; RHP Erick Fedde optioned from Washington; IF Adrián Sanchez recalled to Washington.
Winston-Salem 12 Potomac 5
• Raquet (L, 1-4) 5+ IP, 10H, 8R, 7ER, BB, 4K, 3HR, WP
• Romero 2IP, 4H, 3R, 3ER, 0BB, K, HR, 2-2 IR-S
• Harrison 3-4, 2R, 2B
• Reetz 2-4, R, 3B, RBI
• Agustin 2-4, 2B, RBI, SB
The Dash blasted four HRs as they easily dispatched the P-Nats, 12-5 in a brisk two hours and 28 minutes. Nick Raquet failed to notch a quality start for the fifth time in 2019, and the 16th time in 17 starts at High-A as Winston-Salem handed him his fourth loss. He was charged with eight runs on ten hits, including three homers, and a walk over five frames while striking out four. K.J. Harrison singled twice and doubled once while Jakson Reetz and Telmito Agustin both went 2-for-4 with an RBI to power the Potomac counterstrike. Roster move: RHP Jhon Romero assigned from XST.
Hagerstown – OFF DAY
Hagerstown starts the first of seven on the road with a three-game series against Asheville, followed by a four-game set against Augusta.
Free Yadiel Hernandez
Indeed
But we are a month away from Memorial Day weekend where the first marker in the marathon course lies ahead and no severe bullpen correction / upgrade ???
This season may be a retool totally post 34 BH
Since the bullpen cavalry are getting scalped like Custer @ Little Big Horn . Davey taking the arrows ..
Lee takes the hill in Northern Virginia !!! Let it ride , Andrew
Adios Adams. Or flee to Fresno.
Very curious about the junkJennings brings out of the pen
Davey spins the bullpen differently now ?? Ross and Jennings more in 6-8?
Is Ryan Brinley in XST , Luke ??
More likely PT – he had his Nats elbow done in March, according to this handy-dandy resource.
Wow Henderson got out of the first with the snippy dogs of El Paso.
Can we hear some Homer Simpson ughs regarding the play in Winston- Salem.
Way to go SS and FP on the mound tonight
Tawny Kitean. Hubba hubba
We wish only the best to Rosie in WPB throwing himself back into synch !!
Maybe one of the items Elder Boone impressed upon Keister was : play Freeman pure lead off and more CF.
When does Potomac have their Cajun night where they hand out French styled facial masks ??
I believe that’s on June 31st.
Lol. I was kidding about Cajun night emphasizing where the fans wear masks instead of shopping bags
Fresno pitching sure brings to the surface some of the rising hitters in the PCL. Vosler tonight and two of the sluggers of Vegas…
The Greek dramatic chorus grows. Yadiel yahoo over to D.C.
I will be silent for a week if Meet the junk by Henderson tosses goose eggs tonight
Not much to report from Reading last night than what Luke mentioned. Tertrault looks like the typical nats right hander. Taylor homered in the 1st and Bourque was strong closing it out.
How was Tet? Following on Gameday, it looked like he was generally around the strikezone but was having trouble finishing batters in his last inning or two.
I’d like to be excited about him. He’s tall, still just 22 getting his feet wet in Double-A, and he’s getting guys out. But scouting reports are hard to come by.
Greateful Dead Jimmy Cordero ??
He had 3 walks, but the umpire had a tight strike zone for both teams. Since Fedde has been returned for now to HBG, we’ll see if he stays or goes back to Potomac (or someone else goes on the IL).
Always good to beat the F- n- Phillies. Fighting last night ? Maybe.
Funny thing happened on the way to the Nats 6-9 IP. I walked my dog near an off street called
Cardinal Way. Fitting
Fresno pitching went to the dogs , Luke. Lol
Whitesnake with Chuck Finley’s ex wife on the carhood. Here I go Again!!
Either Kimbrel or summer savings K mart style for the Lerner group !!
Wow.
Potomac walked 11 (!!!) times in the last 3 innings of last night’s game…. and only had 2 hits in those frames.
Excellent attempt to dig yourselves out of a hole; but still a 11-10 loss….
