I truly hate the extra inning free runner.

No sarcasm in this statement intended. Grizzlies facing right now the lefty Rizzo gave up Max Schrock for .
This AAA club is fun aided by the Pacific winds with big flys

There’s going to be a lot of pitcher movement this year, isn’t there?

Looking just at Potomac game, of the 16 pitchers on their roster currently, only 3 (Bartow, Lee and Pena) have not previously pitched at Potomac. A strong start from just about any pitcher could mean a quick promotion to AA.

There also won’t be a lack of guys filling their spots either. Hagerstown is stocked with a bunch of recently drafted college arms, who are slightly too old for the level. Cate, Fletcher, Irvin, Teel, Tapani, etc. should rise quickly themselves given their advanced ages.

Then the arms in AA and AAA had better step up, because they’re going to be in high demand, given the yet again pathetic state of the big league bullpen. Doesn’t look like Rosenthal, Sipp or Grace have much time left, and maybe it wasn’t due to the lack of sleep from the red-eye flight, but Joe Ross doesn’t look like much of a reliever either.

I would point to Lee and Borne as early possibilities to move up from Potomac, in part because of age/maturity, although this is actually Lee’s first time in Woodbridge (despite making it all the way to Hags the summer he was drafted in ’15). Tetreault also had an excellent start on Saturday. I don’t know how Lee’s velocity is after his second TJ, but he was a power-arm reliever when drafted.

Speaking of such things, too bad Austen Williams has gotten off to such a rocky start, as the big club has to start trying some other options soon. I know it’s like believing in unicorns, but I still have some fascination with what Austin Adams could do in the majors. Also keep an eye on Condra-Bogan at AA, who was strong yesterday.

At Potomac, it’s curious to see Bartow get three innings of relief. He was a closer in college, but that looks like they’re stretching him out. Something to watch.

Among the hitters, not sure why Drew Ward got sent back down to AA, but unlike Fedde, he seems to be making the most of the situation.

Disappointing starts for Sharp and particularly for Fedde at AA. No excuses for Fedde not to be dominating at this level.

Lower down, great start from Peguero, who needs to prove something at age 23. I find it curious that Aaron Fletcher isn’t in the Hags rotation, as I’d tag him as one who could make a move.

Sharp gave up 3 runs on a bases clearing double that was at least 6-12 inches foul. LeCroy was tossed and everyone in the crowd saw it was foul too. The next batter then hit a 2 run homer. Sharp was fine after that.

Ward was supposed to go to Fresno but with all the free agents they signed he was sent back. He is off to a good start.

Luke or whomever can answer this :
So, the Auburn roster acts right now as a parking lot on paper for guys who did not win the lucky lotto slip to long season A ball or rehab status when really just in XST. When shall we see a more concrete
GCL roster with the DSL18 kids , repeaters and June 19 draftees??

Luke, any strong first impressions from the new crop at Potomac?

Good scoop on Sharp. Hard to account for poor umpiring in minor-league stats!

My eyesight has diminished over time so I can not blame the blue unless the ump was young.
      Sharp is a good cookie

The ump was young as are most in the eastern league.
