Jake Noll Born: 3/8/94 Ht. 6’2″ Wt. 195 Bats: R Throws: R Career Stats |
Noll has steadily moved up from SS-A to AA despite being old for the level at each stop, producing enough to warrant a trip to the AFL in 2018. He’s been tried at both 2B and 3B and may even be shifted to LF or 1B if he ever produces more than doubles power, but like a lot of Nats IF prospects, he’s a hitter not a fielder. He’ll most likely repeat AA in 2019.
Omar Meregildo Born: 8/18/97 Ht. 6’1″ Wt. 185 Bats: R Throws: R Career Stats |
It’s not clear whether an injury or the Nats’ mercurial motives kept Meregildo from debuting until June, but the young Dominican overcame a slow June and July (.617, .714 OPS) to finish strong in August (.903) with a career-best .443 SLG% and 7HR in 65G. He split time between 1B and 3B so it’s possible that his days at 3B could be coming to a close.
Daniel Hernandez Born: 9/21/00 Ht. 6′ Wt. 170 Bats: L Throws: R Career Stats |
Hernandez one of several notable $300K signs the Nats made in the July 2017 signing period as a shortstop, but the Venezuelan mostly split time between 3B and 2B in his 2018 debut season. Offensively, he led the D-Nats with 12 steals and hung a very respectable line of .255/.362/.372 with an OPS that was nearly 60 points higher than the lg avg. |
