Syracuse vs. Lehigh Valley – PPD
After not losing in extra innings on Thursday, the Chiefs have a chance to win back-to-back games for the first time in August after achieving the feat twice in July and twice in June. With two games tonight, they could even win three in a row.

Harrisburg vs. Binghamton – PPD
Harrisburg fell back a ½ game with Altoona’s win over Akron, one of three games in the E.L. that didn’t get rained out. The Senators and the Rumble Ponies play two tonight to make up last night’s postponement.

Potomac vs. Myrtle Beach– PPD
Wet grounds and the forecast of more rain were cited for calling off last night’s game in Woodbridge. It will be made up on Tuesday, August 14th as tonight was already scheduled for a doubleheader to make up a rainout in Myrtle Beach last month.

Hagerstown vs. Hickory – PPD
Not sure what the record is for rainouts in a season, but seventeen sure sounds like a contender. Hickory and Hagerstown will now try to squeeze four games into two days with doubleheaders tonight and tomorrow afternoon.

Auburn 1 State College 0
• Stoeckinger (W, 1-1) 6IP, 7H, 0R, 0BB, 6K, HBP
• Tapani (SV, 1) 3IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 0K
• Marinconz 2-4, RBI
• Blash 1-4, R, 2B, E(5)
• O’Connor 1-4, OF assist at HP

The lone stateside game played last night was a classic pitcher’s duel won by Auburn, 1-0. Jackson Stoeckinger got some help from his outfielders as they threw out two baserunners (one at second, one at home) as he gave up seven hits without a run scoring and struck out six over the first six innings. Ryan Tapani was perfect for three innings to earn the save. Jamori Blash led off the 7th with a double, took third on a Carson Shaddy sacrifice, and scored on Kyle Marinconz’s second single of the night for the Doubledays run.

GCL Nationals – PPD
It’s a completion doubleheader today in West Palm Beach against the Mets before they head out to Jupiter, FL tomorrow to face (get beaten by) the GCL Cards then back home for a road game against the G-Astros on Monday.

Will : with all these DHs this weekend and an arm going to D.C. For Tuesday big DH bs ATL, one would expect some bump ups

I would assume the 26th man would be someone already on the 40-man, like Gott or Rodriguez.

Can you imagine the lengthy reports the coaching staffs have to file tonight and the next two nights with all the players performing ??
What’s the story with Ryan Brinley and Tommy Peterson ?

Bravo to Stoeckinger for getting his act together at Auburn. He’s surrendered only three runs in 23 IP there. It will be interesting to see if the Nats try to get him some starts a Hags over the last month, promote Fletcher instead, or promote both.

      Agreed.
We will have to wait until 2019 to see the maturation of the 2018 June draft NCAA arms like Irwin , Karp , and others

What kept out Jake Cousins out so long , Luke?

No idea. Usually if a guy hasn’t appeared by now I assume he’s either had surgery or been released. During the season, MiLB seems to only mentions releases when they’re active—if they began the season on the DL or were never assigned (a.k.a. XST) and they’ve been let go I’m more likely to hear about from commenters or Twitter.
