Bengie Gonzalez drew a one-out walk in the 9th to break up Eric Plutko’s perfect game but couldn’t get another baserunner as the 26-y.o. no-hit the Chiefs for a 6-0 shutout. Erick Fedde was strafed for five runs on 10 hits for his second loss and fourth five-runs-allowed outing in 10 AAA starts. He walked none and fanned nine. David Goforth added two scoreless and Austin Adams one before Carlos Torres gave up the sixth Mud Hens run in the 9th.

Just twice the Portland batters went in order in a 14-5 demolition of Harrisburg. Luis Reyes bore the brunt of the beating, with nine runs surrendered on eight hits and four walks over three innings. Jaron Long turned in five bullpen-saving innings of one-run all on two hits while striking out six before Jeff Ames did his best imitation of a position player pitching with four runs let in on three hits (and only one HR). Osvaldo Abreu, Adam Walker, and Austin Davidson combined for all seven Senators hits and three of the four RBI.

Wil Crowe won for the seventh time and failed to go six innings for the sixth time as the P-Nats stopped a five-game slide with an 8-2. Crowe needed 80 pitches to get through five innings, in which he allowed both Astros runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five. Taylor Guilbeau and Jordan Mills both tossed two scoreless to close out the game. Carter Kieboom and Tres Barrera both homered while Jack Sundberg drew three walks to lead the Potomac offense.

It was a breezy night in Kannapolis (24K combined) but Hagerstown took advantage of two errors to take this one, 3-2. Tomas Alastre put on 10 baserunners in six innings but only allowed one of them to score for his third victory. A.J. Bogucki earned a hold while letting in one run over two innings but Carlos Pena emerged from witness protection the Suns bullpen to pitch a 1-2-3 ninth and notch the save. Aldrem Corredor doubled, singled, and walked while Yasel Antuna doubled and walked to power the Suns offense. Both drove in one run.
