After blowing a 3-1 lead, Syracuse got solo HR’s from Jacob Wilson in the 8th and Hunter Jones in the 9th held on in the 9th for 5-4 win over Lehigh Valley. Tommy Milone saw six innings of one-run ball go for naught as Phillips Valdez was torched for two runs in the space of five batters to start the 7th. Justin Miller stranded two and pitched a scoreless 8th while picking up the win. David Goforth wobbled through the 9th, giving up the final IronPigs run on two hits and a walk for the save. Wilson, Jones, and the third Chiefs outfielder Jose “Orange” Marmolejos, combined for eight hits, four runs, and four RBI to power the Syracuse offense. Roster moves: RHP Wander Suero recalled to Washington; RHP Austin Voth optioned from Washington; RHP Phillips Valdez reassigned from Harrisburg.
Hartford 10 Harrisburg 6
• Long (L, 0-2) 4IP, 11H, 8R, 8ER, 0BB, 1K, 2HR

The Yard Goats chewed on Jaron Long for eight runs on 11 hits, including two homers, over just four innings as they held on for 10-6 win over the Senators. Long walked one and struck out one (not the opposing pitcher) while losing his second game. Logan Darnell was only slightly less ineffective (2R, 3IP) while newcomer Jeff Ames tossed two scoreless in his first outing of 2018. Yadiel Hernandez singled twice and homered once to push his OPS to .890 while Daniel Johnson singled and tripled and Jake Lowery homered to lead the Harrisburg offense.
Roster moves: RHP Jeff Ames assigned from Washington.
Award Winner: Brady Dragmire was named E.L. Pitcher of the Week
Potomac – OFF DAY
Potomac returns home after a 5-1 road trip for a six-game homestand against Wilmington and Salem. The P-Nats and Red Sox are tied atop the C.L. North with a 14-10 record, and, no, it’s not your imagination – thanks to the unbalanced schedule, Potomac plays its intra-division rivals 96 games out of 140 (25 apiece for Wilmington and Frederick, 23 times against Salem and Lynchburg).
Hagerstown – OFF DAY
The Suns make their one and only visit to Greensboro this season along with the first of three stops in Kannapolis as they shoot for back-to-back wins and/or overtake Hickory for 6th place on this seven-game road trip.
Yadiel Hernandez is heating up again. He’s hitting .313/.421/.469 now. I think he’s a lot more interesting of an option than Moises Sierra and Rafael Bautista, whose usefulness is negated by Taylor’s presence in CF, and even Stevenson as depth.
Braves are going all in with their prospects. After bring up Acuna last week, they are bringing up heralded pitching prospect Mike Soroka to start against the Mets tonight.
