Carter Kieboom returned on July 28 and 29, and reached base on all 4 plate appearances, but has not played since. Is he re-injured or is he just taking his time to get back to H’town?

Prolly taking his time, as noted in this story that was Tweeted to me by his brother Tervor, an MLB agent (you thought I was kidding about agents lurking?!)

And as of now, Carter’s 1-for-2 with a double and a walk in the top of the 5th…

How many Kieboom boys are there?

Matt Albers should have just tossed underhand to Osuna last night in Miami

Anyone know who the PTBNL was in the Jimmy Cordero deal?

    1. Will says:
      August 2, 2017 at 12:09 pm

Also, does anyone have any idea how these PTBNL deals work? Does the sending team get a higher quality player if the player performs better? Often times these deals fizzle out. IIRC, there was a deal where the Nats traded a player for a PTBNL that was never named. It turns out the player ended up as cash, and a very minimal amount…

I’m pretty sure I also remember reading somewhere (Jayson Stark?) that there was someone who was traded for a PTBNL – who ended up being himself…..

      2. Luke Erickson says:
        August 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm

Typically, the two teams agree to a short list of players in the interest of time. This enables the one team to get the player they need ASAP and the other to have more time to evaluate the options. As you noted, sometimes the two teams can’t agree on the players and will then do a cash deal.

Would you give up a body for stiff Cordero
Liking the playing time Franco gets from unfortunate Carter injury and Neuse trade. Rain east of hags

How many starts do we think Seth Romero makes at the GCL before he takes the Auburn Express?

I can’t see him doing more than one more, but the Nats seem to be treating him very differently than other recent draftees.

    1. Jeff says:

Ten more IP for Romero in GCL
