Harrisburg climbed out of the E.L. West cellar into 5th place with its second straight win over Richmond, 7-4. Greg Ross went two batters too far to lose the quality start but won the game with as left after giving up a double then a homer to the two batters he faced in the 7th. He was charged with all four runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out seven. Braulio Lara tossed two scoreless for the hold, Andrew Robinson pitched a clean 9th for the save. Corban Joseph racked up ten total bases with a double and two homers and scored four runs to pace the Senators offense.

It was 2017 in a nutshell: the starter pitched well enough to win, the bullpen did not, and the offense wasn’t enough to cover up the mistakes. Potomac rallied for two in the 8th to tie it at 4-4 but had no answer for the four-run meltdown in the 10th in an 8-4 loss to Salem. Luis Reyes gave up a HR in 2nd but was otherwise solid for six innings, with four hits and one walk allowed and seven K’s. The loss went to Gilberto Mendez with four runs coughed up on four hits and a walk in just a single inning. Bryan Mejia was the beer man in a 13-hit parade, which was offset by 13 whiffs and… wait for it… 13 runners left on base. Roster move: RHP Jefry Rodriguez activated from the Restricted List.

Hagerstown bounced back from Tuesday’s loss to double up Hickory, 6-3 and stay within striking distance (2GB) as they two teams meet tonight for the final time (weather permitting). Weston Davis pitched five shutout innings to earn the win, allowing four hits, two walks, and setting down seven on strikes. Hayden Howard stranded two in the 8th and Cordero’d around two walks in the 9th to notch the save. Tres Barrera reached base three times with a pair of singles and a double, as did Aldrem Corredor with a walk, single, and a double to lead the Suns’ offense.

After two scoreless innings of rehab by Sean O’Sullivan, Jackson Tetreault tossed three shutout frames with two walks and three whiffs to earn the win. Nick Choruby was the sole batter not to reach base as Auburn drew eight walks (three by Andres Martinez) and collected 12 hits but left on 15 baserunners. Roster move: RHP Sean O’Sullivan assigned from Syracuse for MiLB rehab.

Luis Garcia singled twice and doubled twice, scored a run, and drove in a run as the G-Nats squeezed six runs from seven hits and two walks (and two G-Mets errors).
