Yadiel Hernandez’s RBI single in the 9th held up as the Sens put the Rumble Ponies in the barn, 4-3. Austen Williams filled in for Taylor Hill and gave up his customary HR for him*, and four hits total over two and a 1/3rd innings. Brady Dragmire got the win with two scoreless while Ryan Brinley worked around a single and Raudy Read’s seventh passed ball to earn the save. Jose “Orange” Marmolejos, who will be joined by Read and John Simms at the E.L. All-Star game, reached base three times with a single and two walks to lead the Harrisburg offense. Roster moves: RHP Austen Williams, IF Corban Joseph activated from the 7-Day DL.
* To be fair, Hill pitched eight innings of one-run ball (not on a HR) for the Chiefs and was the winning pitcher.

Potomac gave Buies Creek an extra out in the bottom of the 1st, which they cashed in with a two-out double for two unearned runs. The Astros pitchers made it stand up as they held the P-Nats to just six hits for a 2-1 win. Luis Reyes took the loss with seven hits and one walk allowed over six innings and four strikeouts. Dakota Bacus pitched two perfect innings in relief. Jack Sundberg’s second hit (and Potomac’s final) was a leadoff double in the 9th. He made it to third on a right-sight groundout, but neither Ian Sagdal nor Taylor Gushue could send him home with the equalizer.

The Suns remain red-hot and steamed the Blue Claws with two runs late for their eighth straight win, 5-4. Tyler Watson gave up all four Lakewood runs on four hits—and two HR—and two walks over six innings while striking out seven. A.J. Bogucki closed it out with three scoreless and got the win. With a little (OK, a LOT) help from a two-out error and a walk, Aldrem Corredor’s fourth single drove in Blake Perkins to cap a two-run rally that put Hagerstown up for good. The Suns collected 13 hits total with Tres Barrera tying Corredor in total bases with two singles and a double, followed by Jake Noll with a single and a double.

SSDG, as Auburn strafed State College pitchers for 17 hits and still lost, 7-6. OK, fine – hitting into four double plays didn’t help. And getting thrown out trying to advance from second to third on a flyball to LF to make the third out wasn’t smart, either. Doubledays starter Ben Braymer tossed five hitless and scoreless innings with three walks and seven whiffs for the no-decision. That went to Michael Rishwain who was, um, spiked for seven runs on seven hits and two walks over just two innings. Jonathan Pryor and Paul Panaccione both went 3-for-5 with an RBI to lead the Auburn hit parade.

The G-Nats were shut out by the G-Astros, 4-0. Third-Round pick Nick Raquet tossed two scoreless innings in his pro debut, with two hits allowed, no walks, and two strikeouts. The loss went Nelson Galindez, a 22nd Rd. HS pick (no, really they *do* exist) out of Haines City, FL, as the Astros got to him for two runs on four hits over two innings. Alian Silva was the only G-Nat to reach base twice, going 2-for-4 with a double, as the G-Nats were held to five hits and one walk while striking out ten times.
