The G-Nats keep rolling, albeit by the slimmest margin possible, with a 1-0 win over the G-Mets.
The Nats are finally getting around to some long overdue promotions. Mills and Ortiz now, after Robles and Johnson a few days ago. Both Robles and especially Johnson are showing just how overdue those promotions were.
Hooray for the Mills promotion! I was really surprised that he didn’t rank higher on the MLB.com org list, as he’s been outstanding this year. Has anyone seen a scouting report on him?
Glad to see Crowe moved on to Auburn. As I’ve noted before, he’s already thrown a lot of innings this year coming off of TJ, so I don’t expect them to push him too hard or too long.
Meanwhile, the first-rounder still hasn’t played.
Ortiz actually started the season at Hags and struggled. Here’s hoping things go better the second time around.
And farewell and best wishes to Randy Encarnacion, who has been in the Nats’ system since 2011.
Tim Collins, who hadn’t played professional baseball since 2014, has 13Ks and 2 BB in 6.2 innings, admittedly in the GCL. Glad to see he is healthy again.
I had hopes when they signed him that he might be able to help the big club by the end of this season, but the fact that he’s still in the GCL doesn’t bode well for rapid advancement. Nevertheless, it’s good to see that he’s healthy. I hope he will re-sign with the Nats and keep trying next season to make it all the way back.
woohoo! Carter Kieboom back in action, going 2-2 to boot!
Thanks, and FINALLY!
Kieboom went 2-for-2 with a double and 2 RBIs for the GCL team. Let’s hope his rehab goes better than Soto’s did. Interestingly, they moved Antuna to 3B to let Kieboom play SS.
McKenzie Mills for Howie Kendrick?
Say it isn’t so…
I’m afraid it is, kid.
Well, at least we got three-quarters of a day of excitement over the Mills promotion! He got to be a P-Nat for all of one rainout.
