A wild pitch is all that stood between the Chiefs another shutout, as the Paw Sox had to settle for 6-1 win instead. Greg Ross was clawed for four runs on five hits and two walks over four and a 1/3rd innings in his fourth AAA loss. Brandon Snyder walked and doubled while Irving Falu, who singled ahead of Snyder (yes, they got both hits in the same inning) scored on the WP. The rest of the Syracuse lineup was 0-for-16.

No such luck in the nightcap as Pawtucket was able to get the two-hit shutout, 3-0. Kyle McGowin went the distance and allowed all three Pawtucket runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five. Brandon Snyder and Clint Robinson both singled while Irving Falu, Andrew Stevenson, and Mario Lisson each drew a walk.

Harrisburg rallied for three in the 7th to make it look good, but Altoona took the game, 5-3. Jaron Long pitched into the 7th but gave up all five Curve runs on eight hits, including an Earl Weaver special to the last batter he faced, over six and a 1/3rd innings. He walked none and struck out two. Four relievers combined to get the last eight outs. Jose “Orange” Marmolejos led the Sens hit column with three singles while Corbin Joseph homered and walked to lead the seven-hit, two-walk offense.
Potomac – OFF DAY
A four-game sweep by the Keys has put the P-Nats firmly in fifth place in the Carolina League North. The Woodbridge nine returns home for seven games – four against the Wood ducks, three against the Astros – before closing out the first half with four on the road against the Mudcats.

Sterling Sharp showed no rust as he combined with Steven Fuentes on a six-hit shutout of Greensboro, 6-0. Sharp went the first six and allowed three hits and a walk while winning his third game. Fuentest closed it out and worked around three hits and a HBP for his first save. Both pitchers struck out four. All-Star Daniel Johnson connected for his league-leading 12th homer and drove in three while Anderson Franco and Tres Barrera both singled twice to lead the Suns attack. Roster moves: RHP Sterling Sharp activated from 3-Day TIL; C Tres Barrera activated from the 7-Day DL; RHP Mick VanVossen traded to White Sox to complete Ryan Raburn trade.
