Rain washed away the series finale between Syracuse and Columbus. They’ll make it up next month when the Chiefs visit the Clippers on July 20-23.

Erie 6 Harrisburg 3
• Crownover (L, 0-1) 4IP, 8H, 3R, 3ER, BB, 5K
• Lisson 2-4, 2R, HR, RBI
• Marmolejos 2-4, R, 2B, HR, 2RBI

The Seawolves jumped on Matt Crownover for three runs in the 2nd as they completed the four-game sweep with a 6-3 win over the Senators. Crownover made it through four innings in his losing AA debut, allowing the aforementioned three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five. Erick Fedde was stung for one run and R.C. Orland for two runs as each went two innings in relief. All three Harrisburg runs came via the longball as Mario Lisson went solo in the 4th and Jose “Orange” Marmolejos sent in two during the 6th; both went 2-for-4.

Frederick 4 Potomac 2
• Silvestre (L, 5-2) 5IP, 9H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 3K, 2HR, WP
• Pantoja 3IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Page 3-3, R, 2-2B
• Gutierrez 1-4, RBI

It was two little too late as Potomac scored twice in the 9th but fell short to Frederick, 4-2. Hector Silvestre was dinged twice and gave up all four Keys runs on nine hits and two walks over five innings. Jorge Pantoja followed with three scoreless to keep things close. Matt Page singled once, scored once, and doubled twice while Kelvin Gutierrez rounded out the P-Nats hit column at just four. Roster move: RHP Joan Baez placed on the 7-Day DL, retroactive to June 2; LHP Jordan Mills reassigned from Hagerstown.

Columbia 5 Hagerstown 3
• Watson (L, 4-2) 5+ IP, 5H, 4R, 4ER, 3BB, 5K, HR
• Held 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Perkins 2-4, R, 2B, BB
• Noll 2-4, BB, RBI

The Fireflies got to Tyler Watson for two in the 6th to erase a 3-2 Suns’ lead and held on for 5-3 win and split the four-game series. Watson, who lost for the second time, was charged with four runs on five hits and three walks over five-plus innings. Blake Perkins and Jake Noll both went 2-for-4 with a walk to lead the Hagerstown hit parade. Roster move: RHP Phil Morse reassigned from Auburn.

It appears all five of the top signings from last year will start in the GCL. Yasel Antuna, Luis Garcia, Jose Sanchez, Ricardo Martinez and Isreal Pineada. Positions and playing time will be very interesting to me.

Nats add Ryan Rayburn to the active roster. Not sure who the Nats either DFA’d or placed on the 60 day DL.
