Same s!@#, different level for Joe Ross, who was hammered like a Kennedy at an open bar in Syracuse’s 9-3 loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Ross gave up seven runs on eight hits, including two two-run homers that bookended his five-inning outing. He walked two and struck out four. Brian Goodwin and Brandon homered to account for all three Chiefs runs on an eight-hit, three-walk offensive output. Roster move: RHP Cody Satterwhite assigned from Washington.

The Sens ‘pen couldn’t pull off another magic trick and instead gave it away in the 8th for a 6-5 loss to the Yard Goats. Erick Fedde rebounded for a quality start of three runs (two earned) on five hits (one longball) and two walks while fanning four over seven innings. Phillips Valdez ran aground for three runs on three hits and a walk in the 8th for the blown-save-loss. Drew Ward singled once and doubled twice while Alec Keller reached base three times to lead the Harrisburg offense.

Wirkin Estevez went the distance but the Potomac offense was shut out, 3-0 by Lynchburg in the opener. “For the Weekend” went a season-high seven innings and allowed all three Hillcat runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five, but lost for the second time this season. The P-Nats managed three hits and four walks and were 0-for-7 with RISP, leaving eight runners on base.

The Hillcats wasted no time putting this one away, scoring four in the 1st and two in the 2nd as they cruised to an 11-3 win and a doubleheader sweep of the P-Nats. Luis Reyes was strafed for eight runs on eight hits and two walks over three an a 1/3rd innings to lose for the fifth time in six starts. Taylor Gushue smacked his Carolina Lg.-leading 8th HR and drove in another with a sac fly to lead the Potomac attack.

Aldrem Corredor struck again with a two-run double to rally the Suns past the Crawdads for a 10-9 walkoff win. Carlos Pena was knocked around again with six runs on five hits and five walks over three and 2/3rds for the no-decision. Hagerstown rallied from an 8-1 deficit to tie it at 8-8 with seven runs in the middle innings. David Ramos vultured the win despite giving up the go-ahead run in the 9th in his second inning of work. Daniel Johnson singled twice and doubled once to lead the Hagerstown hit column. Roster move: C’s Jakson Reetz, Matt Reistetter assigned from XST; C Tres Barrera placed on the 7-Day DL, C Jorge Tillero placed on the Restricted List.
