Make that five straight L’s for the Chiefs with a 4-3 defeat to the Tide on Saturday night. Kyle McGowin came off the DL and fit right in with four innings of two-run ball on three hits and two walks to take the loss. Austin Adams became the latest victim of the GBI curse as he walked four and gave up the fourth and final run in the 7th. Brian Goodwin and Caleb Ramsey both went 2-for-4 with a double but neither scored a run, thanks to Syracuse’s 0-for-8 mark with RISP. Roster moves: OF Rafael Bautista recalled to Washington; RHP Kyle McGowin activated from the 7-Day DL.

The Harrisburg bullpen was torched for nine runs in the 7th and 8th innings to turn a 3-1 game into a 12-4 smackdown by Altoona. John Simms turned in a quality start of three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out five. Jimmy Cordero evened up his ERA to 27.00 by retiring just one of five batters faced as part of a trio of throwers who walked seven in the 7th. Alec Keller led the Senators hit column with a 4-for-5 night, followed by Andrew Stevenson’s 2-for-5 effort.

The P-Nats evened up the series with a 10-3 win over the Red Sox. Wirkin “For the Weekend” Estevez got his first “W” for ’17 as he went the first six innings and gave up all three Salem runs on eight hits and two walks while fanning four. Gilberto Mendez tossed three scoreless innings to close it out and get the save. Ian Sagdal was the beer man in Potomac’s 13-hit assault, led by David Masters and Dale Carey, who both went 2-for-5 with a solo HR.

Tres Barrera let in the tying run with a passed ball in the 9th but got it back with a solo HR in the 11th as Hagerstown edged Lexington, 5-4. Tyler Watson also allowed three runs over six innings on six hits and no walks. He tied his career high with eight strikeouts. The win went to Jordan Mills who was charged with a blown save on Barrera’s PB but gave up no hits or walks over the final two and 2/3rds innings. Daniel Johnson and Sheldon Neuse both went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored to lead the Suns offense.
