The Chiefs turned the Tide with another shutout, 3-0 and quietly extended their win streak to four games. 2016 Austin Voth showed up with six strong innings, allowing four hits and two walks while fanning five. Greg Ross followed with two scoreless for the hold while Joe Nathan worked around a single in the 9th for the save. Adrian Sanchez went 2-for-3 with a run scored while Brandon Snyder drove in two and Brian Goodwin one to compose the Syracuse five-hit, three-run offense.

Rafael Soriano Jimmy Cordero was lit up for five runs in the 9th but improved his ERA to 18.69 as Bowie broke open a 3-0 game en route a 8-2 win over Harrisburg. Osvaldo Abreu’s two-run homer in the alst of the 9th avoided the shutout. Austen Williams took the loss despite six innings of two-run ball on five hits and two walks while striking out four. Raudy Read singled and doubled to lead the Sens hit column of six total while Andrew Stevenson drew two of the five Harrisburg walks on the night.

Rhett Wiseman’s two-run HR in the 7th also broke up a would-be shutout as the Hillcats doubled up the P-Nats, 4-2. Joan Baez rebounded somewhat in his third start, letting in two runs on two hits and five walks over four innings. He struck out five while throwing 83 pitches. Jack Sundberg added two singles to Wiseman’s big fly to account for all three Potomac hits. The rest of the lineup was 0-for-24 with walks drawn by Taylor Gushue and Kelvin Gutierrez.

Delmarva broke up the Star Trek convention on the Municipal Stadium scoreboard with a three-spot in the 7th, Hagerstown answered with two in the 7th, one in 8th, and walked ’em off with a run in the 9th for a 4-3 win in the completion. Carlos Pena took over for James Bourque and was charged up all three Shorebird runs on six hits and a walk over four and 2/3rds innings. Jordan Mills let in two of three inherited runners while getting out of the 7th and closed out the game with two scoreless to pick up the win. Blake Perkins singled twice, doubled once, and scored a run while Jake Noll plated the game winner with a single over the heads of a (presumably) drawn-in outfield with one out in the 9th.

It was all Shorebirds in the nightcap, as they scored single runs in four of seven “ups” to split the de facto doubleheader with a 4-1 win. Matt DeRosier took the loss wtih three runs allowed on eight hits over three and 2/3rds innings. Yonathan Ramirez stranded two while getting out of the 4th, then pitched two scoreless innings in his season debut. Juan Soto and Jorge Tillero both singled and doubled in three trips to the plate to lead the Suns offense.
