Joe Ross rebounded from the beating he took last week to throw seven innings of one-run ball on six hits, no walks, and six strikeouts. His teammates supported with one run and four hits total as the Chiefs lost in the 9th, 2-1 to the PawSox. A two-base error put the winning run on 2nd and Pawtucket cashed it in on a bloop single with two outs to take the game, 2-1 and the series, 3-1. Rafael Bautista singled and doubled and scored on Clint Robinson’s RBI single in the 6th. Joey Butler doubled to round out the Syracuse hit column. Roster move: IF Adrian Sanchez reassigned from Harrisburg.

Erick Fedde tossed another six scoreless innings but the Harrisburg ‘pen couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead as Bowie knifed ’em in the 9th for a 5-4 walkoff win. Fedde gave up just three hits and one walk while striking out four. Derek Self put all four runners on base he faced while Ryan Brinley let in both inherited runners to fall behind 4-2. Drew Ward’s two-run HR in the 9th tied it but Jimmy Cordero did his best imitation of Rafael Soriano with two walks, two hits, and the winning run allowed. Raudy Read (single, two doubles) and Stephen Perez (double, two walks) both reached base three times to lead the Sens offense. Roster move: OF Zach Collier activated from the 7-Day DL.

Bryan Mejia and Taylor Gushue both homered while Hector Silvestre turned in six serviceable innings as the P-Nats took the series opener from the Blue Rocks, 6-4. Silvestre allowed all four runs on eight hits and no walks and struck out three. Grant Borne shut down Wilmington over the final three innings for the save, his first of the year. Edwin Lora reached base four times on three singles and a walk while Ian Sagdal singled twice and walked once to lead the Potomac hit parade. Victor Robles left the game in the top of the 4th with an apparent leg injury, which he appeared to suffer chasing down the first Wilmington triple, then aggravate running down the second Blue Rocks triple. Don’t worry he also got hit by a pitch, too.

A seven-run third inning put this one away early as the Suns took their fourth straight, 12-5 from the Shorebirds. Carlos Acevedo got the start but couldn’t make it out of the 4th as he let in two runs on two hits and a walk, though he did strike out five. The win went to Kyle Simonds with three and a 1/3rd innings of one-run relief on four hits, no walks, and seven whiffs. Carter Kieboom singled twice and doubled once to raise his Sally Lg.-leading BA to .483 while Tres Barrera, Dan Johnson, and Jake Noll each homered to lead the Hagerstown assault.
