Matt Skole’s two-out, two-run HR put the Chiefs up for good at 4-3 as they clipped the RedWings, 6-4. Austin Voth did his best imitation of Phillips Valdez with five walks over two and 2/3rds innings and was scored on in each of the first three innings for a no-decision. Aaron Laffey got the win with three innings of one-run relief. Skole also walked once, scored and singled twice and drove in three altogether followed by Michael Taylor’s 2-for-3 night with a walk, double, stolen base, two to lead the Syracuse offense, which collected ten hits and two walks total. Roster move: LHP Bryan Harper placed on the 7-Day DL.

Let the drumbeat for Fedde in ’17 begin (as if we can stop the MASN Commenters, who probably to want him to pitch next week) as the 23-y.o. dominated in his debut with seven innings of one-run ball on five hits and two walks in Harrisburg’s 5-2 win over Altoona. The Senators gave him three runs to work with right off the bat of Kevin Keyes, who capped off the rally with his 10th HR. Andrew Stevenson led the Harrisburg column with two singles and double while Keyes, Nick Rickles, and Adrian Sanchez each went 2-for-4.

Potomac 6 Lynchburg 3

The P-Nats scored all six runs in the bottom of the 7th as the Hillcats gave this one away with two critical errors, 6-3. Dakota Bacus got the win with seven strong innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk while fanning five. Gilberto Mendez and Ryan Brinley each put up a goose egg to earn the hold and save, respectively. Alec Keller and Max “For Those About To” Schrock both singled twice to lead the Potomac offense.

Kannapolis 3 Hagerstown 2

Hagerstown’s slide continues with a 3-2 loss to Kannapolis, completing the Intimidators’ three-game sweep. Taylor Guilbeau did his part with six innings pitched, one run let in eight hits, no walks, and five strikeouts. Carlos Acevedo coughed up the gamewinning runs on three hits in the 8th (and a little “help” from an error) to take the loss. The Suns managed just four hits with Jakson “Anyone See My C?” Reetz (walk, double) and Randy Encarnacion (two walks) the only Hagerstown batters to reach base twice.

The Doubledays scored four in the 4th but them all back with a five-run 5th as the Tigers, um, doubled them up, 8-4. McKenzie Mills was clawed for six runs on eight hits and a walk. He struck out three while losing his third game. Dan Johnson singled, doubled, and a scored a run while Sheldon Neuse singled and walked to lead the Auburn attack.
