Heavy thunderstorms swept through Pennsylvania and postponed the series opener between the Chiefs and the IronPigs. They’ll make it up tonight with a doubleheader at [Your Ad Here] Park. Harrisburg vs. New Hampshire –
Ditto for Harrisburg, though officially “wet grounds” was the reason cited for the postponement. Likewise, it’s a twinbill tonight at [parts of Major League II filmed here] Field. Roster move: RHP Jaron Long reassigned from Syracuse; 1B Shawn Pleffner placed on the 7-Day DL (dated 7/24).

It wasn’t La Cage aux Folles night in Woodbridge but it sure was a drag (3 hours, 46 minutes) as the Red Sox got to Gilberto Mendez again for four runs in the 9th to beat the P-Nats, 7-4. Erick Fedde labored through five innings as he let in a run on seven hits and a walk. He struck out five but threw 98 pitches. Mendez put on six straight runners with one out as Salem beat him for the third time is as many appearances, with a blown save added in for good measure. Led by Dale Carey with four, Potomac drew seven walks but all ten of its hits were singles, with David Masters, Max “For Those About To” Schrock, and Jose “Orange” Marmolejos each collecting two and driving in one.

Matthew Page’s two-run HR in the 9th tied it, Ian Sagdal’s two-out solo shot in the 10th won it. Charleston’s Hobie Harris gave up four runs total in the final three innings to turn a 4-1 lead into a 5-4 loss to Hagerstown. Grant Borne was the winner, giving up a run on two hits and two walks over the final three innings. Taylor Guilbeau got the start and was charged with three runs on seven hits over five innings. He walked none and struck out two. Rhett Wiseman also homered while going 2-for-3 with a walk as the Suns collected eight hits total but struck out 11 times. Roster move: IF Grant DeBruin placed on the 3-Day TIL.
Auburn vs. Williamsport – PPD
