The Chiefs overcame a bullpen implosion in the 7th with single runs in the 8th and 9th innings to edge the Tide, 4-3. Austin Voth struggled with his control, walking six over five scoreless innings with four hits allowed and two strikeouts. Erik Davis came on in the 6th to protect a 2-0 lead and retired Norfolk in order but allowed four straight singled before he was lifted in favor of Koda Glover in the 7th, who let in the go-ahead run on the fifth straight Tide single. Matt Skole’s leadoff HR in the 8th tied things up while a single-walk-error sequence in the 9th plated the gamewinner. Glover got his first AAA win, Davis his second blown save, and Rafael Martin his 16th save with a 1-2-3 ninth. RHP Lucas Giolito optioned from Washington; SS Trea Turner, OF Michael Taylor recalled to Washington; LHP Matt Grace activated from the 7-Day DL; IF Adrian Sanchez reassigned from Harrisburg.

Brady allowed just two baserunners over six innings while striking out six to win for the second time this season. Wander Suero (2IP, 2H) and Robert Benincasa (1IP, 2BB) weren’t quite as efficient but kept the breeze going (4K, 2K respectively) to preserve the shutout. Rafael Bautista reached base five times with four singles and a walk while Drew Ward and Stephen Perez both went 2-for-3 and combined for four runs, three walks, and three RBI to pace the Sens’ 13-hit, 10-walk attack.
