The Chiefs put up two-spots twice to take leads of 2-0 and 4-2 and held off the Tide for a 5-3 win the series finale. Paolo Espino gave up all three Norfolk runs on nine hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven while earning his sixth win. Bryan Harper and Rafael Martin each turned in a scoreless inning to earn the hold and save, respectively. Zach Collier singled and tripled while Adrian Sanchez drove in two with a 2-for-4 night. Syracuse collected ten hits total, but also struck out ten times.

Nick Rickles’s two-run HR in the bottom of the 12th ended a 4-4 stalemate as third-place Harrisburg took two out of three from second-place Akron with a 6-4 walkoff win. Greg Ross got the start and allowed a run on a solo HR and six hits total over seven innings, with no walks and four whiffs. He left with a 4-1 lead that Abel De Los Santos could not hold as he retired just two of six batters faced and gave up three runs on two hits, including a two-run HR. The win went to John Simms, who shut down the ‘Ducks for three scoreless and hitless innings. Wilmer Difo and Rafael Bautista each had three hits to lead the Sens’ 13-hit parade.

A five-run 4th by the Mudcats was too much for the P-Nats to overcome as they lost a second straight, 8-7. Whit Mayberry bore the brunt of the Carolina assault, letting in seven runs on nine hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out three while dropping his first decision for Potomac. Max “For Those About To” Schrock singled twice to extend his hit streak to 15 games as did Alec Keller while Drew Vettleson reached base three times with a single and two walks to pace Potomac’s nine-hit, five-walk offense.

Hagerstown 9 Delmarva 5

Hagerstown put three-spots three times as they cruised to a 9-5 in the series finale vs. Delmarva. Pedro Avila struck out nine and walked one, letting in one on a solo HR and four hits total over six innings to get the win, his seventh. Grant DeBruin drove in five and went 4-for-5 with a three-run HR to lead the Suns’ 13-hit assualt on Shorebirds pitching.

State College 10 Auburn 3

The Spikes completed the three-game sweep of the Doubledays with another 10-3 win. Weston Davis started and went just four innings, as State College gashed him for five runs on seven hits, including a two-run HR in the 3rd. He walked none and struck out two while losing his second game. Oliver Ortiz and Nick Banks both had three hits and an RBI with Ortiz connecting for a double and Banks drawing a walk to pace the Auburn offense.
