Difo singled twice, doubled, and homered to drive in 7RBI while Shawn Pleffner, who’s been killing it in June (.415/.458/.547), went 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead the Sens’ 15-hit assault. The BaySox rallied for three in the 9th before Abel De Los Santos came on to strike out the final batter and earn his fourth save.
Roster moves: RHP Wander Suero activated from 3-Day TIL.
Potomac vs. Winston-Salem – PPD
For the second time in the second half, rain washed away a P-Nats game and pushed it to another game in another series. They’ll make this one up when Winston-Salem returns to Potomac next month with a twi-night doubleheader on Saturday, July 23rd.
Roster moves: RHP Whit Mayberry assigned from Washington. FYI: He’s from Alexandria, VA, not Mt. Airy, NC.

Lakewood scored seven times in the first three innings and it turned out to be the margin of victory in a 12-5 win over Hagerstown. All-Star Jefry Rodriguez was knocked for those seven scores on nine (9) hits and two walks over two and 2/3rds innings to lose for the third time. Robbie Dickey stranded two and let in a run of his own over three innings, but the rest of the Suns relievers were pinched for four runs in the 7th to put the game away. Grant DeBruin celebrated his 26th birthday with a single, a double, and two walks While Rhett Wiseman homered and drove in three to lead the Suns offense.

Carlos Acevedo hit the wall in his fifth and final inning with three runs allowed on six hits and a walk to lose for the second time. Mahoning Valley made hay against Maximo Valerio, Nick Conner, and Phil Morse for six runs in the 6th and 7th before Angher Cespedes stopped the bleeding with a scoreless 8th. Sixth-round pick Tres Barrera drew the only Auburn walk and hit his first professional HR while Clayton Brandt doubled twice and drove in two to account for three of the four Doubleday hits.
Looks like the Nats made the right choice with Giolito over Voth; then again, Voth may have been distracted by the fact he was so close to pitching in the show.
Kudos to Wilmer for finding his power stroke!
Juan Soto is the fastest rising Nats prospect and not long for the GCL. Out of his mind hitting at age 17.
Coupled with Aldrem Corredor .
Koda Glover continues to impress. When not if with him, this season.
Andrew Stevenson is just a hitter. Every level, he just slaps the ball around, like an American Ichiro. He is definitely looking like a future leadoff hitter in the Bigs. Interesting that he is playing LF and Bautista still in CF last night after AS was in center on Monday.
He will be banging – well, slapping is more like it – the door down next season. He seems like a similar hitter to Trea Turner, which would give the Nats a nice top of the order. How novel.
Sorry, i know this was already asked, but i can’t recall the answer. Where is Anderson Franco?
Also, what happened to Jakson Reetz? He was pretty hyped at one point but he has not progressed at all.
GCL roster shows Armond Hammer signed
Given Herm Winnjngham number 3 ( for old expo
Fans ).
Matthew Grace rehabbing in GCL
Hearn 6 Ks in 3
Aggie Simonds. More Ks
I love Reetz’ future. He is 20 years old and has one of the highest OBP in the system despite.a very low BP. His hitting will come; he already is showing some pop. Hagerstown pitchers are doing just fine with him on the mound.
As for what is getting in his way, maybe it’s the emergence of Jorge Tillero. Tillero has thrown out over 45 percent of runners and his hits have fallen in to get his BA way up.
Tillero impressed me in camp 3/31-4/1
