Norfolk 7 Syracuse 2
• Voth (L, 2-2) 5+IP, 5H, 5R, 4ER, 2BB, 3K
• Davis 1IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 2K, 1-1 IR-S
• Sizemore 2-4, R, 2B, RBI
• den Dekker 2-5

The wheels came off the bus in the 6th as the Tides scored five times to break a 0-0 tie and cruised to a 7-2 win over the Chiefs. Austin Voth let the first five runners reach base in the fateful frame, “aided” by a Trea Turner error (#7), and left down 4-0. He was charged with five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks total as Erik Davis gave up two singles and his inherited runner while finishing the inning. Veterans Scott Sizemore singled, doubled, scored a run, and drove in a run to lead the Syracuse offense.

Harrisburg 7 Bowie 2
• Williams (W, 1-5) 6⅓ IP, 5H, 2R, 0ER, 2BB, 3K
• N. Lee (H, 2) 1⅔ IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Bostick 3-3, 3R, 2B, 3B, 2SB
• Collier 3-4, R, 3B, RBI, SB
• Ballou 2-4, 2-3B, RBI

Austen Williams turned in his longest outing and was rewarded with his first “W” of 2016 as Harrisburg won its fifth straight, 7-2 over Bowie. Williams loaded the bases with one out in the 7th but got ace relief from Nick Lee who struck out the first batter he faced and got a flyball to end the inning. Williams finished with two unearned runs allowed on five hits and two walks while striking out three. The Sens defense committed five errors but the offense roasted Bowie pitches for a baker’s dozen worth of hits. Christopher Bostick and Zach Collier led the way with three hits apiece, both tripling, as did Isaac Ballou… twice. Roster moves: UT Cutter Dykstra activated from the 7-Day DL; OF Brendan Webb placed on the 7-Day DL, retroactive to May 19.

Frederick vs. Potomac – PPD
Rain postponed the middle game of the series between Fredrerick and Potomac, setting up a doubleheader this afternoon.

Greensboro 4 Hagerstown 2
• DeRosier (L, 1-2) 5IP, 6H, 2R, 0ER, BB, 6K
• Pantoja 3IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, BB, K
• Robles 1-4, R, HR, RBI, OF assist at 3B
• Lora 1-3, R, RBI, SB(5)

Presumably the weather forecast shifted the makeup to today as they played nine yesterday, with the ‘Hoppers eclipsing the Suns again by a 4-2 score. Matt DeRosier took the loss as he gave up two (unearned) runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six over the first five innings. Jorge Pantoja was stung for two runs on five hits and a walk over the final three innings. Victor Robles homered in the 8th while Edwin Lora drove in Jorge Tillero with an RBI single in 5th to account for the two Hagerstown runs.
