Rochester 4 Syracuse 3
• Cole 5IP, 8H, 3R, 3ER, BB, 7K, HR
• Grace (L, 1-1) 1IP, 2H, R, ER, 0BB, 0K
• Turner 2-4, R, HR, 2RBI, SB
• Sizemore 1-3, R, HR, BB, RBI

It’s go big or go home again for the Chiefs, who fell again in the late innings, 4-3 to Rochester. All three runs came via the longball, with Trea Turner smacking a two-run shot in the 6th and Scott Sizemore going solo in the 7th. The two big flies were enough to spare A.J. Cole another loss, as the 24-y.o. rebounded somewhat from the beating he took from Buffalo with five innings pitched, three runs allowed on eight hits, including his 5th HR given up (fourth in the last three starts), a walk, and seven strikeouts. Matt Grace took the loss with a run let in on two hits in the 8th.

Harrisburg 11 Akron 7
• Lopez 3IP, 3H, 3R, 3ER, 5BB, 5K, HR
• Robinson (W, 3-0) 3IP, 3H, R, ER, BB, 4K
• Soto 3-4, R, 2B, HR, BB, 6RBI
• Bautista 3-4, 4R, 2SB
• Sanchez 2-3, 2R, 2B, BB, RBI

The fireworks started early in Harrisburg, highlighted a 4th inning grand slam by Neftali Soto as the Sens outslugged the RubberDucks, 11-7. Reynaldo Lopez returned to the rotation but struggled through three innings with three runs given up on three hits – yet another HR – and five walks and five K’s. He threw 70 pitches, 33 for strikes. Andrew Robinson got the win in relief with three innings of one-run ball on a walk and three hits and four whiffs. Soto also walked, singled, and doubled to drive in six runs total to lead the 14-hit, six-walk assault on Akron pitchers.

Winston-Salem 5 Potomac 4 (11 inn.)
• Valdez 6⅓ IP, 9H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 0K
• Bacus (L, 0-2) 2⅓IP, 1H, R, ER, 2BB, 5K
• Norfork 2-4, RBI
• Keller 2-5, R, RBI, SB

Tie it up late, lose it later. That’s this road trip in a nutshell for Potomac, losing 5-4 in 11 innings to Winston-Salem. Phillips Valdez started and gave up four runs on nine hits and two walks over six and a 1/3rd innings. Él tenía cero ponchadas. Dakota Bacus suffered his second loss as the Dash plated the gamewinner against him in the 11th on two walks and a hit after retiring six straight in the 9th and 10th. Khayyan Norfork and Alec Keller both had two singles and an RBI to lead the P-Nats attack. Roster moves: Reassigned IF Cody Dent to Auburn; Activated Khayyan Norfork from the 7-Day D.L.; RHP Robert Benincasa activated from 7-Day D.L. and reassigned from Harrisburg.

Hagerstown 4 Kannapolis 1
• Rodriguez 5IP, 3H, R, ER, BB, 5K, HR
• Peterson 3IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Pantoja (W, 5-0) 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 1K, HBP
• Schrock 1-4, R, HR, RBI
• Wiseman 1-4, R, HR, 3RBI

Rhett Wiseman walked off the Suns in the 9th with a three-run homer to snap a three-game skid for a 4-1 win. Jorge Pantoja got the benefit of the blast as he won his fifth game in seven appearances with a perfect top of the 9th. Jefry Rodriguez started and went the first five, giving up a run on (you know it) a HR and three hits over five innings. He walked one and struck out five. Max “For Those About To” Schrock accounted for the first run on solo homer in the 6th. Kelvin Gutierrez singled twice and Edwin Lora once to round out the five-hit output for Hagerstown.
